Poker & Travel Guide

South Korea‘s Gyeong-gi province is a dynamic region surrounding the capital, Seoul, offering a unique blend of modernity and tradition in this part of Asia. The Mind Sports Stadium is located in Goyang, one of the province’s most developed cities, featuring excellent transportation and infrastructure. For players, Gyeong-gi means more than just poker; it’s about world-class Korean BBQ, massive shopping malls, and historical sites. The late March and early April period is particularly attractive as cherry blossoms begin to bloom across South Korea, providing stunning scenery.

Official Poker Guide (Rules & Structures)

The Super Cup 6 Gyeong-Gi 2026 events are conducted according to the official Tournament Director Association (TDA) rules. The Tournament Director’s decisions are final in all cases.

Important Rules and Information:

  • Ante Format: The tournament uses the Big Blind Ante (BBA) format. In all-in situations, the Big Blind is posted before the ante. Some events may be played without an ante.
  • Shot Clock: A 30-second countdown is applied for each action. In Turbo and Satellite events, this is reduced to 20 seconds.
  • Time Bank: If a player needs more than 30 seconds, they must surrender a Time Bank card to the dealer. If they have no cards left, their hand is an automatic “Check” (in early position) or “Fold” (facing a bet or raise). Cards are non-transferable.
  • Taxation: A 4.4% tax is applied to all prize money in South Korea.
  • Age Limit: Players must be at least 20 years old to participate.
  • Ethics: “Soft play” or “chip dumping” may result in immediate disqualification and a ban. Out of Turn (OOT) actions incur a one-hand penalty immediately without warning.
  • Technology: Mobile phones must not be placed on the table felt. Using GTO tools or pre-flop charts during a live hand is prohibited and results in a one-round penalty for the first offense and disqualification for repeats.

Registration & Entry Information

A valid passport or photo ID is required for registration and must be presented at the registration desk. Buy-ins can be paid in Korean Won (KRW) or through the series’ own “ticket” system here in Gyeong-gi.

Note: Guaranteed prize pools may be canceled in the case of natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, extreme snow), and the schedule may change without prior notice.

Destination Guide & Must See

Gyeong-gi province offers plenty of recreation outside the poker tables. It is worth exploring the city of Suwon or the modern districts of Goyang.

Featured Attractions:

  • Hwaseong Fortress (Suwon): A UNESCO World Heritage site with impressive walls and historical gates.
  • Everland: The largest theme park in South Korea, hosting beautiful flower festivals in the spring.
  • Ilsan Lake Park: A lakeside park located near the venue in Goyang, ideal for a relaxing walk between tournaments.
  • Korean Folk Village: Discover the lifestyle and architecture of the Joseon Dynasty era.

Travel Essentials

For international visitors, the most practical entry point is Incheon International Airport (ICN) in South Korea.

  • Airport Transfer: From Incheon Airport, Goyang and the Mind Sports Stadium are reachable in approximately 45-60 minutes by taxi or direct airport limousine bus.
  • Transportation: Within the province, the subway network is excellent, but for quick travel within the city, using the KakaoTaxi or Grab apps is recommended.
  • Currency: The official currency in South Korea is the Korean Won (KRW). It is advisable to withdraw cash at the airport or from city ATMs.
