Insights into the Asian Poker Tour: APT's Prestige Unveiled
Established all the way back in 2006 as one of the premier live poker tours of the region, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) has become a fixture of the poker circuit with more than 110 major festivals since. The brand has visited more than one dozen different countries along the way with Macau and the Philippines among the most frequently visited countries. More than US$50 Million in prize money has been awarded throughout the first 18 years, making it one of the richest tours in Asia.
Since it’s inception, the APT has undergone several changes with regards to ownership and loyalty formats to establish a firm stronghold in the Asia-Pacific region. They were among the first to launch additional perks for participants such as the APT Main Event Bubble Protection, Player of the Year and Player of the Series leaderboards.
In June 2022, the brand was purchased by APT Events Private Limited and expanded the management positions with experienced figures of the Asian and global poker industry. The launch of the New Era propelled the APT to new heights with multiple country, participation and prize pool records set in the following two years. In a typical calendar year, the APT hosts between four to six major live poker festivals in key Asian countries.
