Shawn Lee Leads Main Event as Jeremy Chan Breaks Curse on APT Incheon Day 4

APT Incheon 2026 reached Day 4 with a new overall Main Event chip leader, a familiar face finally getting his hands on a major trophy, and another sizeable high roller field taking shape at Paradise City Casino .

Singapore’s Shawn Cheng Hong Lee moved to the top of the Main Event counts after leading Flight B, while Malaysia’s Jeremy Chan ended a painful run of heads-up defeats by winning the APT Super High Roller .

Germany’s Daniel Smiljkovic also finished the day in front, leading the final 94 players in the High Roller Ultra Stack.

Not a bad Monday, especially for Chan, who had waited long enough to see the right side of a heads-up result.

Shawn Lee Takes Overall Main Event Lead

Flight B of the KRW 2,500,000 APT Main Event attracted 222 entries from 187 unique players, with 91 surviving the ten levels of play.

Lee finished with 329,000, enough to take both the Flight B and current overall chip leads. Hong Kong’s Ka Lok Lam ended the day close behind with 304,900, while Japan’s Shota Nakanishi completed the top three with 287,000.

Combined with the 165 entries from Flight A and the 282 OnLive entries played on Natural8 , the Main Event field has reached 669 entries, with two live starting flights still to come.

At an APT festival, asking whether the field will get bigger is rarely the most difficult prediction of the week.

APT Main Event Flight B Top Ten Stacks

Australia’s Perry finished fifth in the Flight B counts with 228,300, giving the multiple title winner one of the stronger stacks heading towards Day 2.

Several other familiar names also advanced. Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang bagged 98,100, while four-time APT champion Hal Rotholz ended with 89,000.

Thailand’s Kiwanont Sukhum advanced with 73,400, and former APT Super High Roller champion Phanlert Sukonthachartnant found a bag with 56,200.

WSOP bracelet winner Webster Lim will return with 39,300. It is not the largest stack in the room, but ruling Lim out based on that would be a brave decision.

Among those unable to advance were Trung Quan Nguyen , Jennifer Cassell , Natural8 ambassador Hua Wei Lin , and Australia’s Aaron Lim .

Flights C and D are the final opportunities to qualify before the surviving live players combine for Day 2 on August 12. Late registration remains available until the end of Level 11 at approximately 12:15 p.m. local time.

Jeremy Chan Finally Gets His Super High Roller Trophy

A year after finishing runner-up in the same tournament, Chan returned to complete the job in the KRW 15,000,000 APT Super High Roller .

The Malaysian overcame a field of 58 entries from 48 unique players to win KRW 236,325,000 (~USD 169,650), the APT Pewter Lion Trophy, and a seat in the APT Championship 2026 Main Event worth approximately USD 10,000.

Chan defeated Michel Molenaar following a 44-hand heads-up battle that lasted close to three 40-minute levels.

The victory was particularly welcome after Chan finished runner-up in this event last year and recorded another four second-place finishes during the following months. His latest result also moved his live tournament earnings beyond USD 1 million.

“It was funny actually, last year since I got second I went on a pretty big downswing and I was really asking myself, did I really get lucky last year that I finished second?” Chan said after the victory.

“I’m like, what am I actually doing? Do I really know what I’m doing? I’m just reviewing every day. And then, you know, after watching some coaching I’m like ‘I don’t think I’m doing too bad.’ You just have to think that you’re good enough and you just gotta believe in yourself. That’s the most important thing, I think.”

Molenaar collected KRW 170,950,000 (~USD 122,720) for his runner-up finish, while China’s Peng Chen placed third for KRW 110,290,000 (~USD 79,175).

Natural8 ambassadors Chih Wei Fan and Chang finished fourth and sixth respectively, with Martin Sedlak taking fifth.

Heads-Up Curse Broken as Jeremy Chan Wins KRW 236M at APT Incheon

Jeremy Chan ended five consecutive heads-up defeats by beating Michel Molenaar to win the APT Incheon Super High Roller and KRW 236 million.

Daniel Smiljkovic Leads Huge Ultra Stack Field

The high-stakes action did not end with Chan lifting the trophy. The KRW 4,500,000 High Roller Ultra Stack attracted 222 entries from 159 unique players, building a prize pool of KRW 863,136,000 (~USD 619,625).

Smiljkovic ended Day 1 with the chip lead after bagging 1,511,000, worth 125 big blinds when play resumes.

China’s Kunlei Xie sits second with 1,360,000, while compatriot Yuan Lei returns third with 1,073,000.

The eventual champion will receive KRW 179,636,000 (~USD 128,955) and an APT Championship 2026 Main Event seat worth approximately USD 10,000.

High Roller Ultra Stack Day 1 Top Ten Counts

The 94 survivors include plenty of players with previous APT success. Daniel Neilson bagged 824,000, while Hon Cheong “Ivan” Lee advanced with 790,000.

Other familiar names returning include Yita Choong with 547,000, Wongwichit with 380,000, the APT Jeju Classic 2026 Main Event winner William Li with 373,000, and APT All-Time Money List leader Joseph Cheong with 333,000.

Fresh from winning the Super High Roller, Chan found another bag with 276,000. Sedlak also advanced with 237,000, while Chang will return as one of the shorter stacks with 108,000.

The Final Day begins at 11:15 a.m. on August 11, with the field playing down to a champion.

More Winners Crowned on Day 4

There was plenty happening away from the three headline events, with another 12 tournaments filling the Paradise City tables.

Japan’s Taizo Kumagai recorded the largest side-event result of the day, overcoming 273 entries in the NL Hold’em Freezeout to win his first APT title and KRW 45,970,000 (~USD 32,603).

Taiwan’s Szu Ying Wu won the Women’s Heads-Up event, defeating Japan’s Ami Togashi in the final match to claim her maiden APT title.

China’s Yue Sun continued her remarkable record in the Women’s Events, winning her second title of the festival and sixth APT trophy overall. Five of those titles have now come from Women’s Events in Incheon across the last two editions of the festival. Some players find a venue they like. Sun appears to have found one she owns.

Other first-time winners included Taiwan’s Yih Ming Hsu, Japan’s Kentaro Tonosako, Hong Kong’s Chak Sum Wong , Japan’s Akihito Arakawa, and China’s Haiyang Yang .

Main Event Flights and High Rollers Headline Day 5

The final two starting flights of the KRW 1.5 billion guaranteed APT Main Event headline the August 11 schedule. Flight C begins at 11:00 a.m., with registration open until 5:30 p.m., before the final turbo Flight D starts at 6:00 p.m..

The High Roller Ultra Stack also returns for its Final Day at 11:15 a.m., with Smiljkovic leading the 94 remaining players in the chase for the trophy, KRW 179,636,000 (~USD 128,955), and an APT Championship Main Event seat.

More high-stakes action comes from the KRW 10,000,000 Baby Superstar Challenge and the KRW 3,500,000 Single Day High Roller Mystery Bounty. The latter carries a KRW 1,500,000 bounty on each player, so sitting down with a large stack is only one way to have a profitable afternoon.

The KRW 800,000 Women’s Main Event completes a busy list of featured tournaments, getting underway at 11:45 a.m.
