Kunal Patni is an Indian professional poker player and former banker widely recognized as one of the most consistent and successful figures in the Asian and international poker circuits.

Career Earnings & Biggest Results

With over $1.7 million in total live earnings, Kunal Patni currently ranks 8th on the India All Time Money List. According to The Hendon Mob, his career-best live cash of $224,833 was achieved in June 2025 at the 56th World Series of Poker (WSOP) , where he finished 5th in Event #68: $3,000 No-Limit Hold’em.

Other significant career milestones include a second-place finish at the 2018 WPT European Championship in Berlin for $115,819 and a victory in the 2023 USOP Hanoi High Roller for $99,819. These consistent deep runs in high-stakes tournaments have contributed to a substantial poker net worth and solidified his status as a $1 million milestone earner.

Patni has maintained an elite level of performance throughout late 2024 and 2025. In November 2024, he captured his fourth APT title by winning the Baby Superstar Challenge in Phu Quoc for $56,550. More recently, in 2025, he secured a victory in the VPT Championship High Roller in Phu Quoc for $37,258 and recorded multiple final table appearances at the APT Championship in Taipei.

Biography & Poker Background

Originally from Mumbai, India, Kunal Patni transitioned to professional poker after a 13-year career in private banking. He first made a splash on the international scene in 2014 by winning an event at the Asian Championship of Poker (ACOP) in Macau. Currently residing in Mumbai, he is a frequent traveler on the global circuit, regularly competing in major series across Asia, Europe, and Las Vegas. He has previously served as a brand ambassador for major Indian poker platforms, further establishing his role as a pioneer for the game in his home country.

Play Style & Strategy

Kunal Patni is known for a highly disciplined and analytical play style, a trait he often attributes to his background in risk management from his banking years. He excels in navigating large-field No Limit Hold’em tournaments and is particularly effective in high-pressure final table environments. His strategy emphasizes strong bankroll management and a continuous study of the game, allowing him to adapt fluidly between the exploitative fields of Asian regional tours and the GTO-heavy environments of the WSOP and WPT.
