TJPT Korea (TJPK) Day 2 highlights: Joseph Cheong tops Main Event Day 1B; 281 cumulative entries; Benjamin Heisler, Yake Wu win trophies
Day 1B of the inaugural Top Joy Poker Korea (TJPK) Main Event $1 Million guaranteed drew a larger field of 177 entries, among them was Joseph Cheong, one of the most decorated American pros with multi-million in live career earnings. Cheong was a force to reckon with as he bagged up the largest stack of 75 bb.
Cheong wasn’t the only superstar gracing the felt. Other well known pros seen in action were Hyun Sup Kim (APL Seoul City Series champion), Dong Hyun Kim, Soo Jo Kim, Xuming Qi, Yo Hwan Lim, Daewoong Song, and Gyeong Byeong Lee. By the end of the scheduled 14 rounds of play, only 36 players remained. They join the 15 survivors of Day 1A into the next stage. Before doing so, they await the results of the last entry day, which takes place on Saturday, September 30 at the Swiss Grand Hotel.
Cards in the air at 12pm with late registration closing at 730pm, before the start of Level 9. Buy in is₩ 1,500,000 (~US$ 1,110) inTJPT voucherswhich can only be won via theTJPT Online App.
With only 281 cumulative entries so far, an overlay is possible to the US$ 1 Million guarantee. Currently in the lead is Day 1A chip leader, Li Zhong Xian with a towering 183 bb stack. That’s 100 bb more than second ranked Marc Inizan.
