The strong turnout generated a prize pool of USD 2,681,700, with USD 600,700 awaiting the eventual champion. When play concluded for the night, China’s Tony Ren Lin emerged as the chip leader, bagging a commanding 19,825,000 chips to take into the Final Day.

Lin is no stranger to this stage. Ranked third on China’s All-Time Money List with over USD 16.8 million in live earnings, he once again finds himself deep in a major title hunt. His presence loomed large throughout the day, steadily accumulating chips and positioning himself perfectly for the run to the trophy.

Seunghyun Nam finished the day in second after a timely knockout of Yuhan Liu , getting his ace-eight through ace-five to add crucial chips late. Zengxiang Chen rounded out the top three, climbing over 13 million after sending Tsz Kin Heung to the rail in tenth place.

With eight players remaining, everyone has locked up a minimum payday of USD 68,000, but the focus is firmly on the top prize and a place in the King Poker Cup history books.

Day 2 Highlights

The middle stages of the day featured several momentum-shifting bluffs. Christopher Park found himself on the wrong end of one of the biggest pots of the afternoon after Takumi Odani applied maximum pressure across three streets. After a long tank and multiple time banks burned, Park folded, only for Odani to turn over a ten-high bluff.

Trung Hieu Nguyen also pulled off a standout move, shoving the river against Quang Minh Nguyen and getting a fold after showing four-high. The hand drew a reaction from nearby tables and helped Nguyen climb toward the top of the counts.

Bubble pressure peaked when Wanpeng Lim four-bet shoved with pocket tens, running straight into Nguyen’s pocket queens. The board offered no escape, pushing the field into stone-bubble territory.

That unwanted title eventually fell to Nan Zhang, who was eliminated in a three-way all-in pot against Lei Yu and Nguyen. Yu’s ace-king connected to secure a triple-up, sending Zhang out just short of the money.

The final table bubble burst shortly after. Calvin Lee moved all-in with pocket jacks, only to run into Abraham Ceesvin ’s aces. The board stayed clean, and Lee exited in ninth place, officially setting the final eight.

NLH 7-Handed Wraps Up

The NLH 7-Handed side event also played down to a winner on Friday, drawing 51 total entries to generate a net prize pool of USD 716,100. Hong Kong’s Alp Lin came out on top, securing USD 237,200 for the victory after navigating a compact but competitive field.

China’s Qiang Liu finished runner-up for 146,700, while Huu Dung Nguyen of Vietnam rounded out the podium with 97,200. Further payouts went to Nang Quang Nguyen, James Chen, and Go Saito, as the fast-paced format once again proved popular on the King Poker Cup schedule.
