The KPC x LPT Jeju Festival 2026 officially got underway on Saturday at LES A Casino inside Jeju Shinhwa World, with opening-day action delivering a busy schedule both on and off the tables.

Alongside the first completed starting flight of the Jeju Opening and the conclusion of a Single Day High Roller, organizers also announced the launch of a new official KPC website and a special administrative fee promotion for Korean Won High Roller events.

KPC Launches New Official Website

The K Poker Cup has officially launched its new website, providing players and fans with a central platform for tournament schedules, live updates, and series information.

The site offers a cleaner layout, improved navigation, and complete event details for all KPC festivals, making it easier for players to stay connected throughout the series.

Administrative Fee Promotion for KRW High Roller Events

Players entering KRW High Roller events during the festival can take advantage of a limited-time administrative fee promotion, with the eligible tournaments listed below.

The first 12 players who complete registration and are fully seated before the scheduled start time will receive a 50 percent discount on the administrative fee. Seating priority is determined strictly by check-in and seating completion time (valid on Day 1 only).

The promotion applies only to events that begin on time, is non-transferable, cannot be redeemed for cash, and cannot be combined with other offers. Organizers reserve the right to amend or terminate the promotion at any time.

With limited spots available, players are encouraged to arrive early to secure the discount.

Yixian Chen Leads Jeju Opening Day 1a

Across the three opening flights, the Jeju Opening generated 429 total entries, including 222 unique players and 207 re-entries, creating a KRW 333,590,000 net prize pool. Day 1a drew 149 entries, with 19 players advancing, while Day 1B proved the busiest flight with 192 entries and 24 survivors. The final turbo flight, Day 1C, added another 88 entries, sending 11 players through to Day 2. In total, 54 players secured a cash and a seat in Day 2, which will play out across seven tables at LES A Casino.

Emerging as the clear chip leader of Day 1a was China’s Yixian Chen, who closed the day with 670,000 chips, equivalent to 67 big blinds at the end of Level 17 (5,000 / 10,000 with a 10,000 ante).

Chen’s run was far from smooth. Early setbacks saw him drop to a short stack, including a hand where his flopped pair of sevens was cracked by Ka Lok Lam’s two pair. Chen regrouped and later found his moment of revenge in Level 5, shoving king-jack suited and turning a flush to eliminate Lam.

The defining moment came during bubble play, when Chen scooped a massive pot against Haisheng Qiu and Chien Yu Lin after rivering a full house. Lin was sent to the rail, while Chen cemented his position at the top of the leaderboard heading into Day 2.

Trailing Chen is fellow Chinese player Yaoyu He with 476,000 chips, while Long Jin rounds out the top three on 341,000.

Hong Kong’s Hon Lung Ip exited as the unfortunate bubble player after four-bet shoving pocket jacks into He’s pocket aces, bringing Day 1a to a dramatic close.
