Event recap
It took seven hours to bring the field down to four tables. Leading up to the final table, Poland’s Marcin “DGoggins” Lesniewski set delivered a double bust to India’s gm-ind and 0rangeBlood_412 . Natural8 Team Hot Pete Chen followed (22nd) with outdrawn by Barak Wsibrod’s on a board . Taiwan’s Meimei also knocked out two heads simultaneously, Croatia’s “paco01” (16th) and England’s Jack Salter (15th). At 12 remaining, the Indian Anshul “ISILDUR99” Rajput railed Italy’s Alessandro “MonkeyD93” Pichierri (12th) then plummeted when his AQo missed the board against Canadian Frederic “KanielOutis” Normand’s pocket Jacks. Argentina’s Leandro Bianchini took the rest however, a three-way showdown sent Bianchini packing next. The final table was formed at the fall of DGoggins to Israel’s “opener”.
Kicking off the final chase, Malaysia’s PenangCKT came out strong with four quick pots but after losing a showdown against KanielOutis, PenangCKT was crippled then eliminated. The next two shoves brought the rise and fall of Meimei555. Meimei555 avoided the rail when pocket sixes improved to a set to crack KanielOutis’s pocket Aces, but on the next hand, no luck there. Israel’s “opener” shipped it all with over to deliver the bust and take the lead.
Israel’s “opener” went on to amass over half the chips in play by dusting India’s Anab “ChampakBhoomiya” Naiyer (5th) with diamond nut flush over lower flush. To reach heads-up, Luxembourg’s “futomaki” finished off KanielOutis (4th) then NuttedDreams outdrew futomaki’s on a board . Israel’s “opener” was ahead by a wide 44 bb lead.
As blinds continued to climb, so did “opener” while NuttedDreams dropped as low as 5 bb. Thirty minutes in, the tides shifted. NuttedDreams tightened the gap then took the lead. Both players battled for control, “opener” was up by 4 bb when the next called shove arrived. NuttedDreams with , opener with , the board ran . NuttedDreams scooped up a monster double up then shipped the rest and the coveted ring on the next hand.
