GGPoker and Triton Poker tie up for Special Edition series
Leading online poker giant GGPoker is stretching itself to a new level as it celebrates its newest partnership this month of April with Triton Poker. The major tie up begins with the sponsorship of the ongoing Triton Poker Cyprus – Special Edition running through the 7th at the Merit Royal Hotel & Casino. Triton Poker has been an industry staple across the high stakes arena for the past seven years, bringing some of the most expensive yet innovative tournaments and cash games of the season.
Clutching the top recording traffic across the online field, followers of the powerhouse GGPoker brand in collaboration with Asia’s premium Super High Roller operator can expect a whirlwind of live poker festivals from here on out. Additionally, GGPoker also highlighted in its official announcement that exclusive online satellites to these upcoming live events will soon be available on the platform.
“Since its inception, the Triton Series has striven to bring live poker to the next level,” said John Scanlon, Director of Sponsorships & Live Events at GGPoker.
“It’s not just about the size of the buy-ins or the big name players, but the quality of production and level of engagement it receives from the poker community. This partnership is the perfect synergy between two brands aligned with a common goal to bring poker to the masses through premium product offerings.”
“We are thrilled to welcome GGPoker as our premier partner this season. GGPoker brings a wealth of experience within the online gaming industry and is renowned for being at the forefront of developing innovative games and features. Significant live coverage has always been the cornerstone of our business, and this partnership will further enhance the thrills and spills our fans have come to enjoy at our exclusive events”, said Andy Wong, CEO of Triton Poker Series.
With the ongoing Triton Poker Cyprus – Special Edition, only one out of the five premium events on schedule has been completed with Hungary’s Andras Nemeth claiming the title. Event #1: $50,000 6-Handed NLH awarded Nemeth a handsome seven-figure win of $1,082,000 for having outlasted the 82-entry field. Among those in appearance were South Korean Dong Hyun Kim (3rd), Phil Ivey (4th), GGPoker Ambassador Jason Koon (5th), and Elton Tsang who was the first to depart the final table. Other well-known Asian pros seen battling it out on the felt include Malaysian pro Michael Soyza (9th), Eng Siang Ewe (10th), Lun Loon, Ivan Leow, Winfred Yu, Richard Yong and Danny Tang.
