Day 1A of the Players Series Main Event concluded with 125 entries generated following twelve 50-minute levels, with only 32 survivors successfully bagging up their chips and moving on to Day 2 on Saturday, Dec. 21st.

Taiwan’s Liao Bo Lin sits at the top of the leaderboard after a day of skillful play, amassing 361,500 chips. He maintained momentum throughout the day with strategic moves, including applying pressure on the turn with a board reading 4♦ 4♠ J♣ 4♣, which forced two opponents to fold.

Close behind is Taiwan's Lai Li Yang, who amassed an impressive stack of 317,500 for Day 2. Demonstrating strategic aggression since Level 3, Yang maintained his momentum all the way through to the final level.

Other survivors to manage it to Day 2 with healthy stacks include Taiwan’s Chio Ka Seng (189,000), Taiwan’s Chen East (183,000), Japan’s Taisei Sakamoto (174,500), Taiwan’s Ho Keng Chih (168,500), and Taiwan’s Hsu Yu Cheng (166,500).

With a board showing 3♥ 8♦ T♦ 4♣ and around 10,000 chips in the pot, Hsu Wen Chun checked the action from the big blind to Mao Lun Yu from under the gun, who also checked it over. The c revealed on the river, where Chun fired out 10,000 and Yu snap-called to take it to a showdown. Chun tabled 3♦ 3♠ for a rivered quads, leaving Yu no choice but to muck the hand.

Cheng Hao Che opened to 5,500 on the button and Po Chia Liao three-bet to 12,000 from the small blind, which Che shoved all in for around 130,000, sending his opponent into the tank. After over 2 minutes, Liao eventually threw his cards into the muck.

Nick Lai raised to 3,000 from the small blind and Chen Sin Lan defended from the big blind. Both players saw a flop of 7♦ A♥ 8♥, and Lai continued with a bet of 3,500, which Sin Lan dropped in a call. The J♠ fell on the turn, where Lai fired out 12,000; however, it didn’t deter Sin Lan from making the call. The river carried out 3♦. Lai then shoved all in and Sin Lan snap-called. Lai revealed 9♣ 2♣ for a bluff, while Lan tabled two pair with A♣ 3♣, eliminating Lai during the final level of play today.

The action was picked up on the river with a board showing 8♦ 4♠ 9♥ 7♠ Q♠ and around 12,000 chips in the middle. Li Yang Lai fired out 21,000 from the big blind, sending Taisei Sakamoto in a tough situation. Eventually, Sakamoto tossed his cards into the muck.

A flop rolled off T♣ T♠ K♠ with around 3,500 chips in the middle, and Ting Yao Lin checked the action from the small blind to Chen Hung Jie, from the big blind, who bet 2,500. Lin snap-called. The 3♠ came on the turn, where Lin check-called after Jie fired out 3,000. The river brought a board-pairing 3♥. The action went check-check. After Lin tabled K♥ 9♣ for two pair, Jie tossed his cards into the muck.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board showing K♦ 3♦ 6♣ K♣ and around 15,000 chips in the middle. Cheng Hao Che from the small blind, Po Chia Liao from the big blind, and Hu Chung I on the button all checked through. The 2♦ fell on the river, and the blinds checked over again. After consideration Hu Chung I tapped at the table and took it to a free showdown. After Che turned over J♣ T♣ for a missed flush draw and Liao flipped 8♣ 6♥ for flopping a six, Hu Chung I tabled K♣ T♠ for turned trips of kings to collect the pot.

Tse Chun Hong limped in from the small blind and Li Chih Feng checked from the big blind. Both saw a flop fill out 4♣ 9♣ 8♣, and Hong bet 1,200, which Feng stuck around to see the 4♥ hit on the turn, Hong fired out 4,800 this time and it forced his opponent to muck the hand.

Hu Chung I raised to 2,400 from under the gun and received two callers, Liao Bo Lin on the button and David Erquiaga from the big blind. Three players saw a flop of 4♦ 4♠ J♣ and checked through to see the 4♠ fall on the turn, where Erquiaga and Hu Chung checked the action to Lin, who led out for 3,500, forcing his two opponents to muck the hand.

The action was picked up on the flop of K♦ J♠ T♥ with around 8,000 chips in the middle. X.B.B. checked the action from the small blind to Kyle Hu, from the big blind, who bet 3,000, which X.B.B. put in a raise to 6,000. Hu made the call. Both read an A♣ on the turn, and X.B.B. bet 3,000 after consideration, which Hu stuck around to see the Q♦ fall on the river, where X.B.B. checked over. Hu then shoved all in and X.B.B snap-called.

Hu tabled 8♦ 8♣ and X.B.B. flipped K♠ T♣, meaning two players chopped the pot.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board showing 5♥ T♠ Q♦ 7♠ and around 9,000 chips in the middle. Yu Chen Hsu bet 15,000 from the big blind, forcing Arthur Hung to fold on the cutoff.

Mao Lun Yu opened to 2,600 from the cutoff and received two callers, Kasen Chio on the button and Zhang Yu Wei from the big blind. On the flop of Q♣ 6♦ 5♠, Wei checked to Yu, who bet 3,000. Only Chio stuck around to see the 2♣ hit on the turn, where Yu led out for 7,000 and Chio called. The river carried out 9♦, and Yu shoved all in for around 31,000 chips, forcing his opponent to muck the hand.

Yu Chen Hsu opened to 2,600 from the cutoff and Arthur Hung defended from the big blind. Both players read a flop of 7♦ Q♣ 9♦ and checked through to see the board-pairing Q♦ fall on the turn, where Hung checked the action to Hsu, who then bet 3,200, forcing Hung to fold.

After a raise from Nick Lai from the hijack, Po Kai Peng shoved all in from the big blind for around 15,000, which Lai snap-called to put Peng at risk.

With a board showing J♣ Q♦ 7♦ 9♥, East Chen from the small blind and X.B.B. from the big blind check-called after C.J. Chen bet 6,000. The river brought a K♠, and the blinds checked over again. C.J. Chen fired out 15,500, forcing his opponents to muck the hand.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board reading 7♣ T♥ K♣ 5♥ and around 3,000 chips in the middle. East Chen checked from the small blind to X.B.B., on the big blind, who the bet 2,000. Chen dropped in a call. The 2♠ fell on the turn, where Chen checked over again, and X.B.B. fired out 4,500, which didn’t deter Chen from making the call. X.B.B. showed J♠ 8♦ for a bluff while Chen tabled a flopped pair of sevens with 7♠ 6♣.

Yeh Hung Wei raised to 2,000 from the hijack and received two callers, T.K. Young from the small blind and Lee Yuan Hsu from the big blind. Three players saw a flop of 9♥ 2♣ 4♦, which Young and Hsu check-called after Wei continued with a bet of 2,000. The K♥ came on the turn, where all players checked through to see the 9♠ fall on the river. Young checked over and Hsu fired out 6,500. Wei then put in a raise to 22,000, forcing his opponents to fold and collecting the sizable pot

After a raise from Yu Chen Hsu from the small blind, Chen Hong Yu shoved all in from the big blind for around 10,000, which Hsu snap-called to put Yu at risk.

Yu picked up the lead with better kicker six, but the dealer soon delivered bad news as the board ran out 4♠ 5♥ 2♥ 6♦ 6♠, improving Hsu to a straight and sending Yu to the rail.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board showing J♠ 9♠ 5♦ 5♠ and around 13,000 chips in the middle. C.J. Chen checked over from the big blind, and Tang Chi Ngong fired out 7,000, sending Chen into the tank. After long consideration, Chen eventually threw his cards into the muck.

Jui Tse Kao went all in from under the gun and Ching Ning Hsueh called off his remaining chips from the small blind to put himself at risk.

Ting Yao Lin raised to 2,100 from the cutoff and Ching Ning Hsueh defended from the big blind. Both read a flop of 7♦ 2♣ 5♣, bringing the flush and straight draw possibilities, and Hsueh checked the action to Lin, who then bet 5,000, forcing his opponent to fold.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board filling out 5♣ 6♦ 8♦ 3♦ when both Chen Chih Wei from the big blind and Wu Chia Yun from under the gun checked the action to Hsu Wen Chun from late position, who the bet 3,000. The other two players called. A board-pairing 8♣ hit on the river, where three players checked to a free showdown. After Wei tabled 7♠ 6♠ for two pair, Hsu and Yun threw their cards into the muck.

With the board rolling off Q♠ J♣ 7♥ 2♣ 5♦ and around 23,000 chips in the pot, Chen Huang Jie bet 10,000 from the cutoff and Lu Kuan Lung snap-called on the button. After Jie flipped over A♠ Q♣ for a flopped pair of queens, Lung threw his cards into the muck.

The action was picked up on the flop of 9♦ T♦ Q♥ with around 9,500 chips in the middle when all three players, Y.Y. Chen from the big blind, David Erquiaga from early position, and Chen Hong Yu on the button checked through.

The 6♠ came on the turn, where Chen checked over and Erquiaga bet 2,300, which Yu put in a raise to 8,000. The other two players were forced to muck the hand.

Liao Bo Lin opened to 1,600 from under the gun only to be jammed by Chen Sin Lan from early position. Wei Chun Liu from the big blind and Lin made the call.

Liu picked up the lead with pocket fours. A flop came 4♦ T♣ 8♣, improving Lan to a pair of tens, but it was still not enough Liu’s sailboats upgraded to a set. The runout rolled off 6♣ 2♦, securing the pot for Liu.

Taichi Baba opened to 1,600 from the cutoff only to be jammed by East Chen for 12,000 more from the small blind, which Baba snap-folded. Chen managed to chip up a little bit.

Hsu Wen Chun raised to 2,000 from late position and received two callers, Chen Chih Wei from the cutoff and Wu Chia Yun on the button. Three players read the flop of 9♦ 4♥ A♦, and Chun continued with a bet of 3,000. Wei and Yun stuck around to see the K♣ turn, which Chun fired again 10,000. Only Wei called this time. The river brought the 7♠, and Chun shoved all in for around 140,000 covering Wei, sending Wei into the tank. Eventually Wei tossed his cards into the muck.

Kai Hong Yu shoved all in from the hijack and Lin Yu Sheng also went all in from the small blind.

Sheng picked up the lead with kicker queen. The clean board swiftly rolled off 3♦ 2♠ 3♥ K♠ J♣, showing Yu out of the door.

The action was picked up on a flop of 4♦ J♣ K♠ with around 5,000 chips in the middle. Lin Sz Wei checked the action from the big blind to Ting Yao Lin on the button, who then bet 1,400, which was enough to make Wei muck the hand.

Kasen Chio limped in from early position, and Lin Sz Wei raised to 2,100 from late position. Chio stuck around to take it into the streets. Both players saw a flop of 9♥ K♠ J♥, and Chio checked over. Wei then bet 2,800, leaving his opponent no choice but to muck the hand.

Hung Yu Liao raised to 1,300 from the hijack and Shih Hsuan Li defended from the big blind.

Both players saw a flop of J♦ 8♦ Q♣, and Li checked to Liao, who continued with a bet of 1,300, which didn’t deter his opponent to put in a raise to 3,500. Liao dropped in a call.

The 9♥ came on the turn, where Li shoved all in for around 6,000, forcing Liao to toss his cards into the muck.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board rolling off 2♥ 9♥ 6♦ 4♥ and around 5,000 chips in the middle when T.K. Young bet 2,000 from the big blind. Lu Yu Cheng dropped in a call from early position. The Q♣ fell on the river, where Young bet 3,000, which Cheng put in a raise to 9,500. Young returned his cards back to the dealer after thinking for a while.

Chen Po Yuan raised to 1,300 on the button and Shih Chuan Hu three-bet to 5,000, sending Yuan in a tough situation. Eventually, Yuan four-bet to 11,500, sending Hu into the tank. After a long time, Hu threw his cards into the muck.

The action was picked up on the turn with a board spreading 2♥ T♦ 4♣ K♥ and around 6,500 chips in the middle when Shih Chuan Hu bet 6,000 from under the gun. This was enough to force Chen Chih Wei on the button to toss his cards into the muck.

Huang Jie Chen from the small blind and Lu Kuan Lung from the big blind checked over the action to Ching Ning Hsueh, who bet 1,600, which only Lung called. After Lung tabled rivered trips with K♥ Q♣, leaving Hsueh with no chance to win the pot as to muck his hand.

Sin Lan Chen opened from early position to 1,100 and Liao Bo Lin defended from the big blind. Both players saw a flop come 2♥ K♠ 5♠, bringing flush draw possibilities, and Lin checked the action to Chen, who continued with a bet of 2,000. Lin made the call. kiAn 8♠ hit on the turn, where Lin checked to his opponent again, and Chen led out for 2,500 this time, which was enough to make Lin fold.

One three-way all in pot just played out, resulting in only one winner in the hand. After a raise from Wei Jen Wang from early position, William Kang from the small blind and Chien Yu Lin both shoved all in from the blinds, which Wang called off his remaining chips.

On the flop of J♥ J♦ 5♥, both Chen and Kao checked over, which Lin continued with a bet of 3,500. Chen then put in a raise to 7,000 only to be jammed by Kao for 29,400, which didn’t deter Lin from shoving all in. Chen quickly called off his remaining chips.

Kao and Lin both flopped trips of jacks, but Lin held the lead with a better kicker ace. The dealer swiftly spread the runout: 6♦ T♣, eliminating Kao and Chen from the tournament and securing Lin a sizable pot.

Yung Ping Li opened to 700 from under the gun and was called by Hung Yu Liao from late position, which Chen Hong Yu three-bet to 2,500 from the cutoff. Only Li dropped in a call. A flop rolled off A♠ 5♦ 7♠, and Li checked the action to Yu, who continued with a bet of 3,800. Li called to see a 3♥ slid on the turn, where Li checked over again to his opponent. Yu swiftly shoved all in for around 28,000, which Li called off his remaining chips and put himself at risk.

Chen Hong Yu opened to 800 from late position and received three callers, Chih Wei Chen on the cutoff, X.B.B. from the small blind, and Lu Yu Cheng from the big blind. Four players read a flop of 4♦ 7♦ K♣ and all checked through to see the 6♣ fall on the turn, where X.B.B bet 2,500 and the other three players made the call. The river brought a board-pairing 6♥, which X.B.B. checked over, and Cheng fired out 11,000, leaving all his opponents no choice but to muck the hand.

A flop rolled off J♣ 7♦ 3♦, and Huang checked to Yu, who then continued with a bet of 1,500. Huang dropped in a call to see the 6♦ turn, which both players checked through. The T♦ came on the river, where Huang fired out 1,700, which didn’t deter Yu from making the call. After Huang tabled J♠ 9♦ for a flush, Yu sent to his cards back to the dealer.

Ling Yen Huang opened from late position to 600 and was called by Po Chia Liao from the small blind and Yung Ping Li from the big blind. Three players read a flop of 5♣ 6♥ 3♥ and checked through to see J♥ land on the turn, where the blinds checked to Huang, who bet 600. Liao and Li made the call. The 2♣ fell on the river, where the blinds checked over again and Huang fired out 2,900 this time, which was enough to make his opponents muck the hand.

Keng Chih Ho opened to 500 from late position and Hung Yu Liao called from the small blind. Both players saw the flop of 7♠ A♥ 8♣, and Liao checked the action to Ho, who continued with a bet of 600, which Liao dropped in a call to see the 9♦ fall on the turn, where Liao checked over. Ho then led out for 1,000 and his opponent stuck around. The T♠ hit on the river, and Liao changed his strategy and bet 5,000. Ho made the call to take it to a showdown. Liao tabled a ten high straight with A♣ 6♣, however, it still couldn’t beat the straight of Ho’s J♠ T♥.

Ling Yen Huang opened to 400 from under the gun and Yung Ping Li called on the button, which Taichi Baba three-bet to 1,400 from the big blind. Huang and Li called to take it into the streets. Three players saw a flop fill out Q♣ 7♥ A♦, and Baba continued with a bet of 1,500. Only Huang dropped in a call. The turn carried out 6♦, and Baba bet 2,500 this time, which didn’t deter his opponent from making the call. A 7♣ hit on the river, where Baba fired out 6,000, leaving Huang no choice but to muck the hand.

The action was picked up on the flop of 7♦ T♦ 4♣ with around 1,000 chips in the middle while T.K. Young checked it over from the big blind, and Edward Lin bet 800 from the cutoff. Young dropped in a call. The 3♣ came on the turn, where Young checked to Lin, who fired out 800 again. Young stuck around. The river brought 2♥. Young kept his strategy and checked to his opponent. Chia Wei Chang opened to 300 from under the gun and T.K. Young called on the button, which Ling Yen Huang three-bet to 900 from the small blind. Only Chang dropped in a call. On the flop of T♦ J♠ T♥, Huang checked to Chang, who then led out for 1,500. Huang stuck around to see a 8♠ fall on the turn, where the action went check-check. Both players read the K♦ on the river and decided to take it to a free showdown. Huang tabled two pair with 9♦ 9♣, but it was still not enough to best the two pair of Chang’s K♥ A♣

The excitement is building as the first starting flight of NTD 16,500 (~USD 525) CTP PS Main Event kicks off at 12:00 pm local time today, featuring an impressive guaranteed prize pool of NTD 15,000,000 (~USD 465,865).

Hopefuls will start with 30,000 in chips and play through twelve 50-minute levels. The blinds begin at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante. A 15-minute break is scheduled after every two levels, and late registration remains open until the start of Day 2 on Saturday, Dec. 21st.
