Wei Jen Wang Leads Warm Up Mystery Bounty
Two Warm Up Mystery Bounty qualifiers completed their course over the opening day festivities, and played down to 15% of the field (ITM). Both heats reached eighteen levels of play before action came to a close, with a combined 22 survivors securing a mincash and a spot into the Final Day battle.
The first of four flights for the opening highlight officially wrapped up with Hong Kong’s Chan Lok topping the remaining field of 11 players out of its 74 entry field. Chan dominated the local heavy turnout with a final chip count of 364,000 (46 BB), trailed closely by Hao Cheng two big blinds behind. Chan took advantage of bubble time, putting maximum pressure on his opponents to take the top spot.
The second of four Warm Up Mystery Bounty qualifiers, Flight B drew in a slightly lesser 70 entries across ten levels of registration, and similarly played down to 11 survivors. Local runner Wei Jen Wang stacked the largest by the end of the night, bringing in a commanding 448,000 (56 BB) chip count onto the Final Day games. Wang extended his lead right after the last break, and utilized the last couple of levels to his advantage, propelling him to the top just as the day closed. Wang surpasses initial chip leader Chan Lok across the overall order, and sets the benchmark for the final two heats.
All Day 1 survivors have secured a piece of the NTD 4,000,000 (~USD 123,040) guaranteed prize pool, and will have a day to rest as they return for the Final Day battle on Sunday, December 15th, where the bounty prizes are due to kick in.
