Originally from the Lake District, UK, I’ve spent the last few years living and breathing the Southeast Asian poker circuit. Since 2025, I’ve been a fixture on the floor at the APT, PokerStars, and WSOP events, serving as a lead reporter and media specialist for Somuchpoker. My work is about more than just recording action; I manage the social media and digital content that brings action rail to the fans. By combining a business education and creative background, I aim to look past the technical hand histories to capture the actual human grit and drama that happens during a deep run.

Day 6 of the 2026 World Series of Poker (WSOP) at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas had everything. A player became an instant millionaire, Daniel Negreanu surrendered a 10:1 chip lead in the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship, Nick Schulman was denied an eighth bracelet in the Badugi, and Phil Hellmuth put himself in contention for number 18. A big day by any measure.

Event #8: $1,500 Badugi — Winner

Michael Casella claimed the Badugi bracelet, denying Schulman what would have been a landmark eighth title. Casella entered the final day as chip leader and held on to take the $141,963 top prize.

Event #1: $550 Mini Mystery Millions — Day 2

WSOP 2026
David Prociak

The standout moment of the day came when Andrew Shelton cracked open the top mystery bounty envelope and became an instant $1,000,000 winner. The roar around the Horseshoe was audible across the entire floor. When the dust settled, three-time bracelet winner David Prociak emerged as the chip leader heading into the final day with 88,000,000 (55 BBs), just ahead of Alexander Kaviani (81,500,000). Only 13 players remain, with a $400,000 first prize and a gold bracelet on the line. Day 3 begins at 2:00 p.m. on June 1.

Alex Foxen , Dimitar Danchev, Ryuta Nakai, and Nikita Kuznetsov are the last four standing in the $25,000 Heads-Up Championship, with $800,000 going to the winner. Foxen faces Kuznetsov in one semi-final, with Danchev taking on Nakai in the other. Foxen is chasing his fourth bracelet. The final day begins at 3:30 p.m. on June 1. Negreanu was eliminated after famously blowing a 10:1 chip lead.

Event #9: $10,000 Omaha Hi-Lo Championship — Day 2

Hellmuth arrived fashionably late to this one — as is his custom — sitting down with a short stack and running it up to 665,000 over 12 hours of play. He also popped the money bubble, sending Brian Yoon to the rail empty-handed. The 17-time bracelet winner returns for the final day in sixth place with eight big bets, very much alive. Scott Clements (1,980,000) leads, ahead of Dylan Weisman (1,940,000) and Todd Brunson (1,280,000). Josh Arieh (1,120,000) and Robert Mizrachi (330,000) are also among the 15 returning players. Play resumes at 1:00 p.m. on June 1.
