Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, whose poker net worth attracts interest after years of major wins and losses

Did you know that Viktor “Isildur1” Blom’s recorded live tournament earnings exceed $7.7 million, while his online career includes both multimillion-dollar upswings and devastating losses? How much did he win against Tom Dwan, what happened in the Brian Hastings match, and what can those results actually tell us about Viktor Blom’s net worth?

As we explored in our Viktor Blom biography, Isildur1’s arrival at the highest stakes revealed both his aggressive style and his willingness to challenge established stars. His early career also showed how quickly enormous wins could turn into equally dramatic losses.

His biggest tournament payouts and recorded cash-game results reveal the scale of his career. They also show why putting a figure on Viktor Blom’s net worth is more complicated than adding up his winnings.

What Is Viktor Blom’s Net Worth?

What we know is that, according to The Hendon Mob, Viktor Blom has $7,724,811 in recorded live tournament earnings, with a career-best live cash of $1,311,091. Those figures establish substantial tournament success, but his exact net worth is not publicly known.

Tournament cashes are gross payouts before entry costs and other expenses. A reliable net worth estimate would also require information about his assets, liabilities, complete cash-game results and financial arrangements with backers or other players.

Highroll Poker lists Blom’s tracked net winnings at $26,878, with his profile last updated on December 17, 2023. However, that figure covers just two recorded cash-game episodes totalling 24 hours. It offers only a narrow view of a career built largely in online games.

How Much Has Isildur1 Won and Lost in Online Poker?

Blom’s online poker career has been a financial roller coaster, with spectacular upswings followed by losses that could wipe out weeks of progress. Winning millions against one opponent offered no protection against losing them to another.

Reports from Full Tilt, PokerStars and other platforms capture parts of that ride, but leave gaps in his overall financial record.

Taking on Tom “durrrr” Dwan

In November 2009, Blom repeatedly faced Tom “durrrr” Dwan in heads-up games on Full Tilt Poker. Playing across several tables, the anonymous newcomer challenged one of online poker’s established stars and won millions.

Dwan fought back during the sessions. In one early encounter, he recovered around $1 million from his lowest point before Blom pulled away again.

Blom’s three queens won the approximately $574,000 pot

Dwan had a pair of fives and a club flush draw when the money went in. Blom held three queens, and the river left his hand ahead.

Was This Part of the Durrrr Challenge?

No. Blom’s encounters with Dwan were regular high-stakes cash games, separate from the formal 50,000-hand durrrr Challenge. Dwan’s challenge opponent at the time was Patrik Antonius.

Beating Dwan did not mean Blom was beating everyone. As he took on Phil Ivey, Patrik Antonius and other specialists, losses elsewhere began eating into his winnings.

The Million-Dollar Pots Behind Isildur1’s Reputation

Blom’s November 2009 sessions produced several seven-figure pots. Against Antonius and Ivey, even a single hand could move more than a million dollars across the table.

The $1,356,947 Pot Against Patrik Antonius

On November 21, 2009, Patrik Antonius won a pot reported at $1,356,947 against Blom at the $500/$1,000 pot-limit Omaha tables. It was reported at the time as the largest online poker pot.

Antonius had flopped a straight, while Blom held several ways to make a higher one. The turn and river failed to complete those possibilities. The pot included both players’ contributions. It was not a $1.357 million net loss for Blom.

The following evening brought a reversal against Ivey, when Blom won a pot reported at approximately $1.128 million with a full house. Even that enormous hand did not establish a winning overall result against Ivey.

How Much Did Viktor Blom Lose to Brian Hastings?

On December 8, 2009, Brian Hastings won approximately $4.2 million from Isildur1 during a heads-up pot-limit Omaha session lasting around five hours.

A $683,000 Pot Against Brian Hastings

One of the session’s biggest blows came in a pot reported at approximately $683,000. Blom improved to top two pair on the turn, but Hastings still had several ways to make a straight.

The Hand-History Controversy

The match became controversial after Hastings discussed the preparation behind his success. Brian Townsend had compiled a database containing hands he had played against Isildur1 and additional hands acquired elsewhere.

Townsend acknowledged obtaining around 30,000 hands beyond approximately 20,000 from his own play. Full Tilt suspended his Red Pro status for one month.

Townsend also disputed suggestions of account sharing or assistance during play, saying the strategic discussions took place away from active sessions. Full Tilt’s investigation found that Hastings and Cole South had not breached its rules. Townsend was sanctioned for acquiring hand histories from games he had not personally played.

A contemporary year-end report put Isildur1’s tracked Full Tilt losses for 2009 at $2,216,177, despite his earlier success against Dwan. That annual result already includes the sessions played during the year; the Hastings loss should not be added to it again.

A Profitable Year on PokerStars, With Losses Elsewhere

The swings continued beyond 2009. Blom’s later results also show why a figure from one platform can give an incomplete impression.

In 2015, HighStakesDB data reported by PokerNews showed Blom winning $3,497,527 on PokerStars while losing $1,367,244 on Full Tilt. Those tracked results show a profitable year across the two platforms, but do not establish his total poker profit for 2015.

Viktor Blom’s Biggest Tournament Results

Blom’s reputation was built in cash games, but tournaments became another important source of major payouts. His record includes victories in the Bahamas and at the partypoker MILLIONS Germany festival, followed by some of his biggest results at the WSOP.

His first major live title came at the 2012 PCA $100,000 Super High Roller, where he defeated Dan Shak heads-up. A year after publicly revealing his identity at the same festival, Blom returned to the Bahamas and demonstrated that his game could succeed beyond the online cash tables.

In 2018, he won the partypoker MILLIONS Germany Main Event at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech Republic, collecting another seven-figure payout in dollar terms.

His 2024 WSOP results raised the bar again. Blom finished third in both the $50,000 and $100,000 no-limit hold’em high rollers, collecting combined payouts of $2,262,818. The latter became his largest recorded live cash.

His tournament success also extended into other formats. In 2025, he finished second to Ian Johns in the WSOP $10,000 Limit Hold’em Championship for $188,295.

What Has Viktor Blom Won in Online Tournaments?

Alongside his high-stakes heads-up cash games in no-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha, Blom also built a record of major online tournament wins.

In May 2013, Blom won the PokerStars SCOOP $10,300 High Main Event for $1,096,200. He outlasted a field of 580 entries and defeated Noah “Exclusive” Boeken heads-up to claim his third SCOOP title.

The victory followed two SCOOP wins on consecutive days in 2012. Those early titles came in no-limit hold’em, but his later results reflected a broader range of skills.

In 2017, he won the WCOOP $2,100 H.O.R.S.E. event for $60,760. The following year, he added the SCOOP $2,100 H.O.R.S.E. title for $59,780.

H.O.R.S.E. rotates through five poker variants. Those titles showed that Blom could win across a wider range of games than the heads-up hold’em encounters that first brought him attention. These online victories sit outside the live tournament earnings quoted earlier.

How Does Viktor Blom Make Money Beyond Playing Poker?

Sponsorship deals have accompanied Blom’s playing career, including partnerships with PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Phenom Poker.

PokerStars signed Blom in December 2010, shortly before his public unveiling as Isildur1. The partnership included appearances in its SuperStar Showdown heads-up series. In August 2012, PokerStars confirmed that his contract had expired and that both parties had agreed not to renew it.

In October 2012, Blom joined Tom Dwan and Gus Hansen in Full Tilt Poker’s sponsored team, “The Professionals.” The deal made him an ambassador for the platform where he had first become famous. Full Tilt confirmed the end of his sponsorship in October 2014.

Blom announced his partnership with Phenom Poker in April 2025, adding another ambassador role to his career. The partnership also brought renewed attention to his online play. In April 2026, the platform published results showing a substantial upswing, which we cover separately in our report on Isildur1’s Phenom Poker run.

These partnerships form part of Blom’s commercial career, but the available public information does not establish his total sponsorship income.
