In this article, we deliver you a couple of selected poker videos of the past week.

Phil Hellmuth Blowup at the WSOP – a Step Too Far?

Last week, we shared a video of poker legend Phil Hellmuth coming very close to his 16th WSOP gold bracelet. And wouldn’t you know it, the “Poker Brat” is still in hot pursuit of his “sweet 16”, this time making the final table in the $10,000 7-Card Stud event. However, yet again, things didn’t go as he imagined. In his signature “Poker Brat” fashion, he likes to let everybody at his table know about his discontent, usually laced with profanities. This time was no different. However, for some reason, some in the poker world are now asking: has Hellmuth gone too far? You be the judge of that.

The Biggest Risktakers in Poker

The popular PokerStars YouTube channel decided to dedicate one of their usual video compilations this week to the biggest risk takers in poker. In this 20-minute video, you’ll see players piling mountains of chips in the pot with King-high, Queen-high, and even 7-high – the last, by the way, was a call… Viewer discretion is advised: don’t try this in your games!

The Best vs. the Worst: Aces Against Deuce-Seven!

It’s a scenario we’ve all been thinking about: having the very best possible starting hand in Texas Hold’em, pocket Aces, versus the worst possible starting hand in Texas Hold’em, a Seven and a Deuce. In case you’re wondering, pre-flop, the Aces are an 87.24% favorite. Now, we got to see this “epic match-up” in real life at the final table of the $3,000 No Limit Hold’em Freezeout event at this year’s World Series. The catch is: short stack Brandon Caputo actually limped his pocket rockets pre-flop, giving the eventual winner Harvey Mathews a free flop to see with the famous rags (which were also suited). Given the fact that Matthews picked up bottom pair with a flush draw, it’s no surprise that the two ended up all-in in the hand. In this story, the underdog overcame the odds: the fifth Diamond came, thus Seven Duece beat the Aces.

Negreanu Vlogging While Drunk at the WSOP

Daniel Negreanu’s famous Vegas vlogs from the World Series are back. Although this is the fourth summer “Dnegs” has been vlogging his WSOP experience (skipping one last year because of the dreaded Coronavirus), we just saw him doing something that we’ve never seen him do before. He played drunk! Negreanu attended the home game of the Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey team, where he got quite inebriated celebrating his team’s victory over the Seattle Kraken. However, that didn’t stop him from making it back to the Rio and jumping into the $5,000 No Limit Hold’em 6-Handed event. And lo and behold, his unconventional strategy worked: Kid Poker ran up a big stack on Day1. He ended up busting in 22nd place the next day (this time playing sober) for $21,838.
