The tournament arena at the prestigious Hoiana Resort & Golf in Hoi An, Vietnam, is in full swing with the Poker Dream 7 Vietnam ₫20 Billion (~US$ 820,000) guaranteed Main Event currently underway. Six out of ten starting flights have so far played through, garnering a total of 75 qualifiers advancing to Day 2. Japan’s Yashiro Naoki finished Day 1D yesterday with the biggest stack and stands to hold the chip lead across the overall pecking order.

Today’s schedule sees four flights hit the felt featuring a mix of regular 40 minute blinds, turbos, and a midnight hyper turbo, to cap the busy day. Players making the money will return on Saturday, December 7 to continue the action for Day 2 at 13:00.

The first flight of the day saw over eleven hours of play before the 228-entry field dwindled down to its final 15% at 35 players. The larger field played through fourteen levels of 40 minute blinds and saw Japan’s Yashiro Naoki surge through the ranks after delivering a double elimination deep in the game. Having opened from the cutoff, Yashiro was met with two all-ins from Rauh Andreas and Dhanesh Vijaykumar Chainani. Yashiro threw in the final call with KsKc and knocked both opponents in quick fashion. About a level later, the flight wrapped up following Oleg Titov’s exit with Tran Thanh Van dominating his Ad7s with a better ace for the win.
