PokerStars clinches top spot once again, new mobile app update
Having lost the #1 spot about a month ago to fierce competitor GGNetwork, the 15-year leader in global cash game traffic, has once again reclaimed its top rank last week. Competition among the operators is proving beneficial for regular users as major platforms strive to get a bigger hold of the market share.
So far, PokerStars’ recent update on its rewards systems whilst still in its trial stage is a huge improvement, allowing players to earn up to 65% in cashback. While this could be a contributing factor to the increase in traffic, the numbers remain close with PokerStars only leading by a small margin. According to data from Poker Scout, reports show PokerStars at the top spot with a 7-day average of 5,200 online players while GGNetwork sits at second place with the same record.
Another upgrade geared for PokerStars users is its latest mobile app update which now features an option to play on a portrait layout much like the majority of today’s platforms. The poker giant’s portrait view has since launched for Belgium players with other markets expected to follow soon after. A selection of games including No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha cash games, Spin & Go, SNGs and some MTTs, is available on the new update, giving players a more seamless gaming experience overall.
