Teeraphat Rangkatekarn Takes Super High Roller as Main Event Gets Underway in APT Jeju 2026

APT Jeju 2026 moved into its third day with Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn capturing the festival’s first Mega Lion Trophy in the APT Super High Roller, while the KRW 2.2 billion guaranteed Main Event got underway at LES A Casino .

Rangkatekarn converted his overnight chip lead into a career-best KRW 355,667,500 (~USD 265,425) victory, defeating Calvin Lee heads-up to claim the biggest live score of his career.

Meanwhile, China’s Xiubo Li topped the opening live flight of the Main Event as the tournament climbed to 520 entries when combined with the 223 entries recorded during the Natural8 OnLive Day 1.

Japan’s Daisuke Abiko also secured the biggest recorded score of his career by winning the Mystery Bounty Hunter, while Wenchao Liu headlined another busy slate of side-event champions.

Rangkatekarn Wins APT Super High Roller for KRW 355.6M

Thailand ’s Rangkatekarn completed a dominant run through the KRW 15 million APT Super High Roller to secure the first Mega Lion Trophy of APT Jeju 2026 .

The tournament attracted 99 entries from 67 unique players, generating a KRW 1,368,427,500 (~USD 1.02 million) prize pool and becoming the second-richest APT Super High Roller held in South Korea .

Rangkatekarn began the Final Day with the chip lead and remained at the top as the field was reduced from 26 players to the nine-handed final table.

Only 13 players reached the money, with Fabian Gumz falling on the bubble. Reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin eventually exited in fifth for KRW 104,340,000 (~USD 77,865).

Rangkatekarn then eliminated Christian Harder in third after cracking the American’s pocket aces, setting up a heads-up battle with Lee.

The Thai player began heads-up with approximately a 5:1 chip advantage, but Lee fought back, first doubling with pocket queens before later briefly taking the lead after making a flush on the river. Rangkatekarn regained control to seal the title and collect KRW 355,667,500 (~USD 265,425), the Pewter Lion Trophy and a USD 10,000 seat to the APT Championship Main Event.

Lee earned KRW 249,330,000 (~USD 186,070) as runner-up, while Harder collected KRW 164,640,000 (~USD 122,865) for third. The result more than doubled Rangkatekarn’s recorded live tournament earnings.

“This is the biggest tournament, the biggest catch…” Rangkatekarn said after the victory.

Xiubo Li Leads APT Main Event Flight A

The KRW 2.7 million APT Main Event entered the spotlight on Day 3 with the first of four live starting flights at LES A Casino .

Flight A attracted 297 entries from 217 unique players, with 96 surviving ten 60-minute levels of play.

Combined with the 223 entries from the Natural8 OnLive Day 1, the Main Event has already reached 520 entries as players chase their share of the KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) guarantee.

China’s Li emerged with the largest stack from Flight A, bagging 381,000. Russia’s Dmitrii Belikov finished second in the counts with 306,100, while Timothy Chung was close behind on 300,900.

Two-time APT champion Hiroyuki Noda finished fourth with 269,400, while Kunal Patni and Toby Joyce also secured top-ten stacks.

Recently crowned Korea National Cup champion Lee Wee Liew progressed with 128,200, while Tony Ren Lin finished with 125,400.

APT Main Event Flight A Top Ten Chip Counts

Flight B begins at 11 a.m. KST on Monday, September 28, with ten 45-minute levels scheduled.

Flights C and D follow on Tuesday, September 29, before the survivors combine for Day 2 on Wednesday.

Abiko Wins Mystery Bounty Hunter

Japan’s Abiko emerged victorious from the Mystery Bounty Hunter, sponsored by Natural8, defeating a field of 644 entries.

The tournament generated KRW 461,099,200 (~USD 344,100) in regular payouts alongside a further KRW 193,200,000 (~USD 144,180) bounty pool.

Abiko and China’s Jianfeng Sun reached heads-up play before agreeing to an ICM deal. Sun secured the larger regular payout of KRW 84,119,200 (~USD 62,700), while Abiko went on to claim the trophy.

The Japanese player received KRW 59,800,000 (~USD 44,600) from the regular prize pool and another KRW 9,400,000 (~USD 7,015) after collecting seven bounties. He also secured a USD 10,000 APT Championship Main Event seat.

Daniel Lei finished third for KRW 39,290,000 (~USD 29,320), plus KRW 1,800,000 in bounties. The largest single bounty was KRW 25,600,000 (~USD 19,100), which was collected by sixth-place finisher Zhanyu He.

Wenchao Liu Wins Single Day High Roller Mystery Bounty

China’s Wenchao Liu captured his maiden APT title in Event #21: Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty after overcoming a 94-entry field.

Liu collected KRW 59,838,800 (~USD 44,162) in total, including KRW 15,050,000 (~USD 11,107) in bounties.

Ryan Plant finished runner-up but collected the largest overall payday after pulling KRW 50 million (~USD 36,900) from the bounty pool. His total haul reached KRW 81,750,000 (~USD 60,332).

Hong Kong’s Chun Kit Kwan finished third with KRW 38,630,000 (~USD 28,509) in combined prizes and bounties.

Nine More APT Champions Crowned on Day 3

China’s Suiyuan Chen conquered one of the largest side-event fields of the festival so far, overcoming 233 entries in Event #20: Sunday Super Stack. Chen earned KRW 24,408,355 (~USD 18,013) and the second APT title of his career.

Japan’s Daiki Aoki moved up to six career APT titles after winning Event #22: Masters Omaha – PL Omaha High for KRW 11,982,000 (~USD 8,843). Jamie Lunt narrowly missed his second trophy of the festival, finishing runner-up for KRW 7,980,000 (~USD 5,889).

Fellow Japanese player Erika Konishi secured her maiden APT trophy in Event #23: Women’s Event, collecting KRW 3,259,302 (~USD 2,405).

China’s Daming Kang went two places better than his third-place finish in the Seven Card Super Stud Mix on Day 2, winning Event #24: Fixed Limit – Seven Card Stud Mix for KRW 3,582,608 (~USD 2,644) and his second APT title.

Hong Kong’s Jie Zhang converted his 25th APT cash into his first title, taking down Event #25: Turbo – Double Stack for KRW 9,665,964 (~USD 7,133).

Hideyuki Sasa of Japan also secured his maiden APT title after a heads-up deal in Event #26: Turbo – NL Omaha High – Double Board – Bomb Pot, earning KRW 2,625,806 (~USD 1,938).

China’s Shurong Huang won the 39-entry Event #28: Turbo – High Roller for KRW 25,499,600 (~USD 18,819), while Wei Sun secured his second APT title in Event #29: Hyper Turbo – NL Triple Draw Mix.

Malaysia’s John Lee Kah Huat completed the Day 3 winners by overcoming 64 entries in Event #30: Super Hyper Turbo – Red River Hold’em for KRW 4,481,228 (~USD 3,307) and his maiden APT title.

APT Jeju Points Race Continues

Every eligible non-satellite cash continues to earn players points in the SMP x APT Jeju Points Race, sponsored by Natural8 .

The top three players across the festival will share $1,000 in Natural8 credits, with $500 going to first place, $300 to second and $200 to third.

The live APT Jeju points-race leaderboard will continue to update as results are added.

Main Event Flight B and SuperStar Challenge Headline Monday

The APT Main Event continues on Monday, September 28, with Flight B getting underway at 11 a.m. KST.

The KRW 2.7 million Main Event carries a KRW 2.2 billion guarantee, with Flight B featuring 45 and 60-minute levels. Registration remains open until 8:30 p.m. local time.

High-stakes action also ramps up with the KRW 4.5 million High Roller Ultra Stack beginning at 11:30 a.m., followed by the KRW 37 million SuperStar Challenge at noon. The single re-entry event will keep registration open until 9:20 p.m.

Players will also have another opportunity to qualify for the Main Event through the 5-seat guaranteed satellite at 5 p.m., with the satellite carrying a KRW 475,000 buy-in.
