Lee Liew Wins Korea National Cup as APT Jeju Day 2 Awards 9 Titles

APT Jeju 2026 gathered pace on Day 2 as Lee Wee Liew denied defending champion Zhiyi Wang in the Korea National Cup, while two of the festival’s biggest early events comfortably surpassed their guarantees.

The KRW 15 million APT Super High Roller generated a prize pool of more than KRW 1.36 billion (~USD 1.02 million), with Thailand’s Teeraphat Rangkatekarn holding a commanding lead over the final 26 players.

India’s Kunal Patni bagged the overall lead in the Mystery Bounty Hunter, which attracted 644 entries and built a total prize pool of KRW 667,699,200 (~USD 498,280).

Another eight side-event champions were also crowned at LES A Casino , including Yih Ming Hsu, who won his second trophy in as many days.

Lee Wee Liew Denies Wang in Korea National Cup

Malaysia’s Lee Wee Liew defeated defending champion Zhiyi Wang heads-up to win the KRW 900,000 Korea National Cup.

Liew overcame a field of 474 entries to collect KRW 70,334,000 (~USD 51,900) and the second APT title of his career. The victory produced the second-largest recorded live score of his career and his first title in what he described as a mid-sized tournament.

“This is my first trophy from a mid-sized event. Everything I won before was from smaller side events,” Liew said. “I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time. It feels super cool.”

The final heads-up opponent added another layer to the victory. Wang had won the same tournament at the previous APT Jeju festival and was attempting to become the first player in tour history to successfully defend an APT title.

“I actually didn’t know,” Liew said when told about Wang’s attempted title defence. “I’m glad I stopped him from getting his second consecutive title. He played very solidly and didn’t make many mistakes.”

Wang received KRW 44,250,000 (~USD 32,655) as runner-up, while Furui Wang finished third for KRW 31,690,000 (~USD 23,390).

Start-of-day chip leader Zu You Wang converted his advantage into a fifth-place finish worth KRW 19,610,000 (~USD 14,470). Reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Abraham Ceesvin finished 30th.

Rangkatekarn Leads KRW 1.36B Super High Roller

The KRW 15 million APT Super High Roller attracted 99 entries from 67 unique players, more than doubling its KRW 500 million guarantee.

The KRW 1,368,427,500 (~USD 1,021,215) prize pool makes it the second-richest Korean edition of the tournament and the fifth-richest APT Super High Roller held anywhere.

Only 26 players remain after 16 levels, with Rangkatekarn holding a substantial lead on 3,425,000. Calvin Lee sits second with 1,945,000, while Christian Harder returns with 1,700,000.

Fabian Gumz is also among the leading contenders with 1,565,000. Yita Choong bagged 1,270,000, Joseph Cheong finished with 1,025,000 and Khoa Anh Ngo closed the day on 975,000.

Ceesvin remains in contention for another major Jeju title with 950,000.

Only 13 places will be paid, with a min-cash worth KRW 27,780,000 (~USD 20,730). The champion will receive KRW 355,667,500 (~USD 265,425), the Pewter Lion Trophy and a USD 10,000 seat to the APT Championship Main Event.

APT Super High Roller Top Ten Chip Counts

The Final Day begins at 11:15 a.m. KST on Sunday, September 27 and will play down to a champion.

Patni Tops 91 Mystery Bounty Survivors

The KRW 1.2 million Mystery Bounty Hunter, sponsored by Natural8 , drew 644 entries from 343 unique players across its opening flights.

The KRW 400 million guarantee was surpassed during Flight B, with the tournament generating a total prize pool of KRW 667,699,200 (~USD 498,280). That figure includes KRW 461,099,200 in regular payouts and KRW 193,200,000 in mystery bounties.

Patni emerged as the overall chip leader after dominating Flight A and finishing with 796,000. Bei Shi leads the chasing group with 517,000, followed by Yirui Zhang on 505,000.

Xiaochun Shi topped Flight B with 474,000, while Arjun Agrawal bagged 453,000. Hideki Nakamura and Chun Shing Lau will also return with top-ten stacks.

Former APT Main Event champion Dicky Tsang progressed with 85,000. Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang also advanced after finishing Flight C with 255,000.

A total of 91 players reached the Final Day, with each guaranteed at least KRW 1,380,000 (~USD 1,030). The eventual champion will collect KRW 89,009,200 (~USD 66,425) before bounties, while the largest mystery prize is worth KRW 25,600,000 (~USD 19,100).

Mystery Bounty Hunter Top Ten Chip Counts

The remaining players return at 11:15 a.m. KST on Sunday, September 27 to reveal the mystery bounties and play down to a winner.

Hsu Wins Second Trophy in Two Days

Taiwan’s Yih Ming Hsu continued his flying start to the festival by winning Event #13: Fixed Limit – Seven Card Super Stud Mix for KRW 2,985,120 (~USD 2,203).

Hsu had already won the Fixed Limit – Triple Draw Mix on the opening day. His latest victory gives him two titles from the first two days of APT Jeju and takes his career total to three APT trophies.

Luis Felipe García Salazar finished runner-up for KRW 1,990,000 (~USD 1,469), while Daming Kang placed third for KRW 1,250,000 (~USD 923).

Lunt Returns With Maiden APT Title

England’s Jamie Lunt recorded his first live tournament cash since 2017 by winning Event #11: PL Omaha High – High Roller .

Lunt collected KRW 25,046,000 (~USD 18,484) and his first APT trophy. The result was also his first recorded live tournament title in Asia.

Toby Joyce fell short of his second APT title, finishing runner-up for KRW 16,690,000 (~USD 12,317). Zhihao Zhang earned KRW 10,730,000 (~USD 7,919) for third.

Six More Champions Crowned on Day 2

China’s Qiang Ying turned her first recorded live tournament cash into a victory in Event #12: Women’s Event . Ying collected KRW 3,460,748 (~USD 2,554), with Menglan Lai finishing second.

Tsz Kin Heung won Event #14: Turbo – NL Drawmaha Mix following an ICM deal with Zehao Li and Hiroyuki Noda . Heung received KRW 3,036,384 (~USD 2,241) and the second APT title of his career.

Yi Wang also secured a second APT trophy by winning Event #15: Turbo – NLH for KRW 10,351,094 (~USD 7,639). His first came at APT Incheon 2026, giving him titles at consecutive festivals.

Thailand’s Tharit Nanthana ended a run of 14 previous APT cashes without a trophy by winning Event #16: Hyper Turbo – High Roller . Nanthana earned KRW 9,744,000 (~USD 7,191) for his maiden title.

Hideki Nakamura claimed his first APT trophy in Event #17: Hyper Turbo – NL 8-Game , earning KRW 1,949,158 (~USD 1,438).

Yuming Poon completed the Day 2 winners by taking down Event #18: Super Hyper Turbo – NLH for KRW 3,630,921 (~USD 2,679).

APT Jeju Points Race Takes Shape

Every non-satellite cash is also earning players points in the SMP x APT Jeju Points Race, sponsored by Natural8 .

The players collecting the most SPI points across the festival will share $1,000 in Natural8 credits, with $500 going to first place, $300 to second and $200 to third.

There is no separate registration, with every eligible result counted automatically once it is uploaded to Somuchpoker. The live APT Jeju points-race leaderboard will be updated daily as the latest results are added.

APT Main Event Begins on Sunday

The KRW 2.7 million APT Main Event begins on Sunday with the first of four starting flights. The tournament carries a KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.6 million) guarantee.

Day 3 will also see champions crowned in the Super High Roller and Mystery Bounty Hunter, placing two more major trophies on the line as the Asian Poker Tour festival moves into its first Sunday.
