Listing a prize pool of KRW 1,867,347,000 (~USD $1,411,975), today’s games are set to play down to a winner, with each of the sixteen survivors already guaranteed a minimum payout of KRW 15,300,000 (~US$ 11,555). Japan’s Shoichiro Tamaki leads the two table list through to the final day where the country’s largest APT Main Event champion will claim the lucrative KRW 346,647,000 (~US$ 262,090) top prize by the end of the day.

Day 3 saw its 134 player field cut a piece of the pie as eliminations turned up early on left and right. It took nearly thirteen hours on the clock before action capped with Hong Kong’s Cheuk Him Tsang on the losing end of a three way all-in. Tsang’s bust in 17th place finish by the hands of Tran Tu meant the final two table player list was set in stone.

Among those sitting high up the ranks are Japan’s Shoichiro Tamaki who locked up a massive flip with JsJd against big stacked Veleriy Pak’s AdKh at the last level of the day, and APT Superstar Challenge 4th placer Abraham Abdulla Ceesvin. Tamaki secured the 6,600,000 in chips or 106 BB pot after spiking a one card flush to his Kh on the river, leaving his opponent still 7th in chips. On the other hand, Singapore’s Ceesvin has shown great prowess in this season’s festivities, having already bagged an APT title from Event #2: Single Day High Roller Freezeout 8-Max, aside from two other final table appearances.

Notable runners who did not make the cut include USA’s Andrew An (23rd), Day 2 chip leader Aaron Lim (52nd), sixteen time APT champion Lester Edoc (58th), Australia’s Joshua McCully (59th), and Sparrow Cheung (61st). Bracelet winners Renji Mao (18th), Yan Shing Tsang (30th), Chin Wei “Webster” Lim (50th), and Alex Lindop (78th) likewise failed to secure a spot in the final games but will still have Event #64: APT High Roller 8-Max to look forward to.

Final Day plays down to a champion today, September 2nd at 12:15 pm sharp. Blinds resume on Level 27: 30,000 / 60,000 – ante 60,000 following 60 minute blind intervals throughout.
