The floor at Cove Manila inside Okada Manila has been packed since Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) Manila 2026 kicked off, and the headline attraction, the PokerStars Red Dragon , did not disappoint.

When registration officially closed across all starting flights, the board showed 579 total entries, easily beating last year’s turnout of 433 entries. That brought the final prize pool to PHP 25,012,800 (~USD 408,000), nearly doubling the initial PHP 15 million guarantee.

Chulwoo Park Commands PokerStars Red Dragon Day 2 Field

Only 87 players made it through the starting flights to lock up a bag for Day 2. The good news for everyone stepping back into the poker room today? The money bubble has already burst, meaning every survivor is guaranteed at least PHP 80,000 (~USD 1,300). Pay jumps kick in once the field narrows to 71 players.

Sitting at the top of the payout structure is the PHP 4,550,000 (~USD 74,005) top prize. On top of the cash, the champion and runner-up will both win an APPT Championship 2026 Package , while those who make it to 3rd through 5th place will score a seat to the upcoming APPT Manila Main Event.

Leading the pack into Day 2 is South Korea’s Chulwoo Park, who bagged an impressive 732,000 (146 big blinds) after dominating the Day 1B flight . His closest rival on the leaderboard is local player John Clyde Tan , who bagged 496,000 (99 big blinds) as he looks to lock in the biggest cash score of his career.

It wasn’t smooth sailing for everyone, though. Defending champion Justin Ong fired multiple bullets across different starting flights, but he couldn’t find any traction and ultimately missed out on a spot in Day 2.

The plan for today is to play all the way down until the final table of nine is locked in for tomorrow’s finale.

Michael Manlapaz Wins Super Structure NLH

Away from the PokerStars Red Dragon spotlight, the two-day Super Structure NLH wrapped up after attracting 276 entries.

With a PHP 10,000 (~USD 160) buy-in, the tournament generated a PHP 2,331,648 (~USD 37,925) prize pool. Local player Michael Manlapaz emerged on top after outlasting the field, earning PHP 475,148 (~USD 7,730) and another APPT title.

The PHP 15,000 buy-in tournament comfortably exceeded its PHP 1,000,000 guarantee, drawing 168 entries (143 unique) and creating a PHP 1,914,352 (~USD 31,135) prize pool. Aggawal navigated an all-international final table before claiming the title and PHP 306,152 (~USD 4,980) in first-place prize money.
