Fabian Rolli Captures Career First APPT National Shard Trophy
Swiss pro Fabian Rolli emerged victorious at the APPT National to hoist the first PokerStars shard trophy of the 2025 APPT season and a payout of $53,432. The pursuit for the title started with 309 entries down to just 46 players at Day 2. The chip lead switched hands multiple times at the final table with Rolli, I-Chun Chiu, Sungheon Hong, and Manh Tuong Ha all grabbing for control. In a post-win interview, Rolli shared his thoughts on the final table and the rivalry with runner-up Manh,
It was definitely one of the more swingy final tables for sure. But yes, the guy to my left (Manh Tuong Ha) he was very tough to play, he never folded, and would always reraise me. I didn't know if had it on those spots, I didnt know if I believed him anymore. It was quite a battle. I was expecting Charlie would be the toughest to play but Manh Ha played very strong.
When asked how he managed his stack with everyone just as aggressive, Rolli laughs and says,
In this final table, not very well. I was chip-leading and then at seven left I was all in with Ace-Deuce against pocket Eights. And then I went all the way back up and then down and then up again. I tried to apply a little pressure in a lot of hands but people were not folding.
