With the 2020 World Series of Poker Online [ international ] winding down to its final days, games are guaranteed to intensify as players try to snatch up the last of the gold bracelets. The festival has been running since July 19th on Natural8 – GG Network. 54 bracelets were up for grabs. Only 7 remain. The last of the games takes place on September 6th.

Last night, two-time WSOP ring holder Jeffrey Dobrin “ShpitFedEX” won the WSOP # 80: People’s Choice / $600 No Limit Hold’em Six Handed [ Pros Vote ] to add a gold bracelet in his treasure chest. At the side events, USA’s Chris Brewer shipped the $10K High Roller for $ 194.7K. See those stories below.

WSOP #80: $600 NLH Six Handed [ Pros Vote ] – Jeffrey Dobrin “ShipitFedEX” – $ 189,666.73

Voted by the pros, the WSOP #80: People’s Choice Event became a $ 600 No Limit Hold’em Six Handed tournament. 2,408 runners poured in to generate a prize pool of $ 1,372,560. When the final table was reached, a good showing of known pros still remained with four remaining. After nearly three hours, American pro Jeffrey Dobrin “ShipitFedEX” claimed the title, his first gold bracelet, the $ 189,666.73 first prize, and the added $ 15,000 WSOP Europe Package.

It has been an 8-year hunt for a first bracelet for Dobrin who first appeared on the WSOP board in 2012. Dobrin collected on three circuit events, one of which awarded him a maiden circuit ring at the WSOP Caesars Palace Ante Only No Limit Hold’em event. In 2015, Dobrin came very close to a bracelet, finishing 4th at the $ 777 No Limit Hold’em Lucky Sevens to pocket his first six figure payout of $ 160,496. The following year, Dobrin tacked on more circuit deep runs including another ring for his win at the WSOPC Bally’s $ 365 No Limit Hold’em. By the end of 2019, he had a combined 49 WSOP / WSOPC cashes.

Enter 2020 WSOP Online [ USA ], Dobrin attacked the online felt leading to four cashes. He then headed out of the country to participate in the international segment which proved to be a fruitful decision. Dobrin cashed at 11 events before landing the elusive gold and the career high score $ 189,666.73.

Recapping the final table race, five pros entered – Dobrin, Marc MacDonnell “Shadykhush”, Idris Ambraisse “Happydris”, Joao Santos “Petronio”, and bracelet holder Chris Ferguson “nelanio”. Dobrin carried in the largest stack, trailed closely by Vahe Martirosyan “JimmyTheGent”.

Ferguson was first to fall with Ambraisse raking it in. Ferguson’s shove ran into Ambraisse’s to cripple him down to one big blind. Two hands later, Ambraisse scooped the rest to claim his first of two victims of the final table. Joining Ferguson was Japan’s Hiroki Morishita “shin-8” railed by MacDonnell. Sergio Veloso “TonyGPT” helped clean house by knocking out Arvhin Malinab “Arvsturrrrr”.

At six remaining, it was the pros in action. Dobrin lost his lead when MacDonnell capitalized fully with quad Queens. This gave Ambraisse the chip advantage though briefly. Dobrin quickly reclaimed it by finishing off Veloso in 6th place. Not long after, Santos picked up his first head with quad Jacks railing MacDonnell, however, as quick as it came, it was taken. Santos lost a chunk to Dobrin then Ambraisse took the rest. Twenty minutes after Santos’s fall, Dobrin railed Martirosyan to face Ambraisse for the title.

Although Ambraisse was ahead in chips, it was Dobrin winning the pots. Within the first five minutes, Dobrin had taken command and never looked back. Dobrin eliminated Ambraisse in less than ten minutes of heads up action. Both earned their largest known tournament score.

The biggest winner of the day’s side events was American pro Chris Brewer who shipped the $ 10,000 High Roller event for $ 194,735.61. Brewer knocked out Mustapha Kanit (6th), Sammy Farha (4th), and Alex Foxen (3rd) to face fellow countryman Bert Stevens at heads up. Stevens also had his share of knockouts, railing George Wolff (9th) and Sami Kelopuro (8th). Brewer had a 3.5:1 edge on Stevens which he never relinquished to capture his first side event this series. In addition to his victory, Brewer also had a few other high roller wins at the network’s daily events. Previous winner, Fedor Holz, missed the mark in 12th place.
