Sembrano Hits the Jackpot

The board was complete at T♠8♠6♠5♣K♥ with around 25,000 in the pot when Alvin Jeff Sembrano moved all-in for 38,000 after Aditya Agarwal checked. Agarwal took some time to think it over before making the call.

Alvin Jeff Sembrano: 9♠7♠

Aditya Agarwal: T♦T♣

Agarwal had flopped top set with his pocket tens, but Sembrano had flopped a straight flush. With Agarwal drawing dead, Sembrano scooped the pot and secured a full double-up.

It was a brutal cooler for Agarwal, who flopped a monster only to run straight into an even bigger one.

Memorable Moments

Li scored a major boost to her stack in a big clash against Chien Hsiang Hsu. Her pocket aces held up against Hsu’s pocket tens, earning her a pot worth approximately 500,000 chips and propelling her stack to 830,000.

Li continued her charge toward the top of the leaderboard, crossing the million-chip mark as the field approached the money bubble. She played a key role in the bubble action, eliminating South Korea’s Seong Jin Han, who was left with just 1,000 chips.

Li’s pair of nines held against Han’s pair of deuces, sending him out as the soft bubble and bringing the field closer to the money.

The money bubble drew spectators to the rail as everyone waited to see who would fall just short of a payout.

The tension finally broke when Taiwan’s Hsuan Chao Chen ran his ace-king into Singapore’s Qi Le Wah, who held ace-four. Wah flopped trips, leaving Chen in despair just one spot short of the money.

His exit drew sympathetic groans from onlookers, while the surviving players celebrated securing their payouts.

Several familiar names remain in contention, including Daeyoung Park (747,000), Chen An Lin (470,000), Nishant Kumar (273,000), Alan Lau (217,000), Weicong Sng (182,000), and Jarryd Godena (105,000).

Day 1 Flight B has also concluded, attracting 72 entries, with 12 players advancing to Day 2 to join Flight A’s qualifiers.

Despite weather reports, Day 1 Flight C is scheduled to proceed tomorrow, October 23, at 11:30 a.m. Players will start with 50,000 chips, with 40-minute blind levels and breaks scheduled every three levels. Registration closes at 6:15 p.m., and play will continue until 15% of the field remains.

Day 1 Flight D will also take place on October 23, starting at 6:30 p.m. This flight will feature 20-minute blind levels, giving players another opportunity to secure their place in Day 2.

Stay tuned as we bring you more updates and intense poker action straight from the Asia Poker Arena as the TMT Championship continues.

A Brutal Bubble for Chen

Qi Le Wah and Hsuan Chao Chen

The bubble burst in the worst way for Hsuan Chao Chen. Action folded to the small blind, where Qi Le Wah moved all in. Chen called with his remaining 118,000 from the big blind, and the two tabled their hands.

Hsuan Chao Chen: A♣K♣

Qi Le Wah: A♥4♠

The crowd reacted as the 4♦4♥T♥ flop hit the felt. Wah had been behind preflop, but found two fours to make trips, leaving Chen with almost no chance of survival.

The 5♠ turn sealed it, and although the K♠ river gave Chen a pair of kings, it came too late.

Chen was eliminated as the sole bubble of the TMTC 2026 Main Event Day 1A, missing the money by just one spot.

The dealer peeled a 2♣ and Huang led out with 1,600. Lin raised him to 4,000 pushing Cobol off the hand. It took Huang a few seconds to decide but called to see another card.

Huang checked the J♣ river, just to go into the tank after Lin fired 6,000. After burning through a time card, he made the call.

Lin turned over A♥A♦ prompting Huang to muck his hand, disgusted.

Bo Sin Wu opened to 1,000 under the gun and got two callers in Dakota Anderson and Chang Seog Chae. Selim Oulmekki on the button had other plans and reraised to 5,500.

All three players, determined to see the flop, called. The dealer spread 6♦4♦T♥ and, after action was passed back to him, Oulmekki continued the pressure with 5,400.

Only Chae succumbed, leaving the remaining four players to see the 5♦ turn. This time, Anderson led out with 15,000. Oulmekki hung on while Wu check-folded his hand.

Heads-up on the K♦ river, Anderson checked the action to the button, who jammed all-in for around 32,000. With only 23,000 behind, Anderson ended up using all his six time cards. When time ran out, the American was forced to fold his hand, leaving Oulmekki to scoop the massive pot early in the day.

TMTC 2026 Main Event Kicks Off With NTD 30 Million Guarantee in Taipei

TMTC 2026 Main Event Kicks Off With NTD 30 Million Guarantee in Taipei

The Main Event of the third edition of the Taiwan Millions Tournament Championship (TMTC) 2026 is set to get underway this morning at 11:30 AM at CTP Asia Poker Arena in Taipei, with players preparing to compete for a NTD 30 million (~USD 1 million) guaranteed prize pool. The buy-in is NTD 35,000 (~USD 1,100), with each player starting with 50,000 chips, worth 167 big blinds.

The opening flight, Day 1A, will follow a 40-minute level structure, with late registration closing at the end of Level 9 at around 6:15 PM. Play will continue until the field is down to 15% of the starting entries, with those remaining securing a place in the money and advancing to Day 2.

Players who bust out of Day 1A will still have another chance to qualify, as Day 1B is scheduled to begin at 6:30 PM, shortly after registration closes for the first flight.

Day 1B will offer a faster route into Day 2, with levels shortened to 20 minutes while following the same overall structure. Players will have six starting flights across three days to qualify, with two flights running each day.

The Main Event will have plenty to live up to, as TMT 19 and TMT 20 previously set records for the largest Main Event fields in Asia. The higher-stakes TMTC has also built a reputation for surpassing its guarantees, leaving the question of whether this edition can deliver another major turnout.
