Vladimir Korzinin is a Russian amateur poker player who burst onto the international scene in late 2024 with one of the most unlikely runs the game has seen in years. Nicknamed “Gambledore” by fans for his wizard-like look and fearless style at the table, Korzinin went from a complete unknown to taking on some of poker’s biggest names, quickly rising to the top of Estonia’s all-time money list.

Career Earnings & Biggest Results

With total live tournament earnings of over $8 million (according to The Hendon Mob), Korzinin’s career is almost entirely defined by a historic week at the 2024 Triton Super High Roller Series Monte Carlo.

His moment came in the $200,000 NLH Triton Invitational, where he outlasted legends like Phil Ivey and Stephen Chidwick to finish as the runner-up for $3,470,000. Proving this was no coincidence, he returned just days later to win Event #12: $150,000 NLH 8-Handed, securing his first Triton title and his career-best $4,350,000 payday after defeating a final table that included Fedor Holz and Bryn Kenney.

Biography & Poker Background

Before November 2024, Vladimir Korzinin was virtually unknown to the poker world, with only a few minor cashes in Cyprus and Barcelona earlier that year. A Russian national, Korzinin holds a master’s degree in Radio Engineering from the University of St. Petersburg and is widely reported to be a successful businessman. His entry into the super high-stakes scene was as unconventional as his play; he entered the Triton circuit as a recreational player, famously claiming in interviews that he “doesn’t know how to play poker.” Despite his modest self-assessment, his analytical background likely provided a useful foundation for his sudden and dominant success at the tables.

Play Style & Strategy

Korzinin is known for a chaotic, hyper-aggressive style that completely ignores traditional charts and solvers. His strategy relies on unpredictability and intuition, often taking lines that leave world-class professionals visibly baffled. He is famous for massive over-bets and a willingness to put his entire stack at risk with unconventional holdings, a style he jokingly refers to as having “100% equity” once he decides to move all in. His joyful demeanour has made him a fan favourite throughout. Whether winning a multi-million dollar pot or facing a high-stakes bust-out, he maintains a beaming smile and a genuine sense of wonder, often appearing more interested in the fun of the game than the money at stake.
