Born in 1984, Di Dang grew up in northern Virginia and began playing poker while studying engineering at the University of Virginia. Realising he could earn more at the tables than in a conventional career, he committed to poker full-time while completing his degree - which he finished in five years. He began by combining his bankroll with his brother Hac, depositing an initial $200, losing it, depositing another $200, and - in his own words - never looking back.

From 2004 onward, Di and Hac became two of the most feared names in online high-stakes PLO. Di played under the handle “Urindanger” on Full Tilt Poker and “ilvdnfl” on PokerStars, specialising in the highest-stakes games available and regularly sitting in pots worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. The brothers were among the biggest online winners in the world at their peak, competing against and beating the likes of Tom Dwan, Viktor Blom, and other legends of the nosebleed era.

Black Friday - the April 2011 US Department of Justice action that shut down the major online poker sites to American players - effectively ended Di’s career at the highest level. With the games gone, the brothers turned their competitive instincts toward a new venture: the restaurant industry. They opened Chasin’ Tails, a crawfish boil-style restaurant in Virginia, which quickly became a local hit with near-perfect reviews. The concept expanded to multiple locations, with further openings planned, establishing the Dang brothers as successful entrepreneurs in a second field entirely removed from poker.
