– Feng Zhao’s Career –

While Zhao is originally from Singapore, his first recorded cashes come from the United States. To be precise, his first result is from August 2006. He came in 16th in the $230 No Limit Hold’em event for $2,125 at the Legends of Poker series in Los Angeles, CA.

In July 2011, he returned to his native Singapore. And he celebrated that with a victory: he took down the S$200 NLHE Greed Event at the Leisure World Poker Series for S$4,040 (which equaled around $3,341 at the time). For the next few years, he was collecting cashes from mid to high stakes tournaments around Asia. He played and made it into the money events in Singapore, Macau, The Philippines, and Cambodia.

In July 2013, he finished 6th in the HK$25,000 Main Event at APT Macau for HK$198,000 ($25,522). In May 2014, he won the $2,700 Main Event at APT Manila for $126,500. Not only was it the first time he made a live cash for over $100K, but it is also his biggest single live tournament score to date.

A few months later, in September 2014, he took down the PHP108,000 NLHE High Roller back at APT Manila, this time pocketing no less than PHP1.474 million ($33,740). The period between 2015 and 2020 was relatively quiet for Zhao. The biggest cash for him from that era is $15,430, which he got for finishing 5th in the APT Manila Main Event.

2021, however, was a breakout year for him – for his performance at WSOP Europe in Rozvadov, Czech Republic.

He managed to cash in 5 different WSOPE events. He even made a runner-up finish in the €550 Pot Limit Omaha 8-Handed event for €36,617, What’s more, before the WSOPE started, he took down the €1,100 High Roller at the Euro Rounders Euro Poker Million for €43,211, already in Rozvadov.

Overall, Feng Zhao has cashed for $530,000 in live tournaments, according to his Hendon page. That puts him in the top 10 on Singapore’s all time money list.

As for online poker, he amassed even more in online MTT winnings, a whopping $899,000. On PokerStars, he plays under the screen name “valkyri3”, while he used to play under the screen name “exhordus” on the now decunct poker site Full Tilt.

In February 2014, he came in 4th in the $700 TCOOP (Turbo Championship of Online Poker) Main Event for $175,893 on Stars. That is his biggest single online tournament score to date. In August 2021, Zhao finished 41st in the $5,000 WSOP Online Main Event for $51,648 on Natural8-GGNetwork.
