Anthony Cierco is a 36-year-old poker professional born and raised in the Toulouse region of France. Cierco, like many other poker players, began specializing in online gaming before focusing on live poker events. He has been playing for 14 years now and is a travel enthusiast but had decided to make Australia his place of residence. Since his transfer to the land down under in 2019, most of his live-cash winnings have been made between Sydney, the Gold Coast and Brisbane. His recent successes have come from the Southeast Asian region.

In February 2021, Anthony Cierco claimed his first big tournament win in his adopted home, clinching the High Roller Event of the Australian Poker Tour High Roller Gold Coast. He cashed $ 25,470 for his first 5-figure payoff. The Frenchman would play the live felt exclusively in Australia for the entire 2021, working on his poker skills in mostly Gold Coast Events.

The following year, his decision to remain in the Australian region continued to pay off beginning the year with a win at the Australian Poker League Poker Tour Queensland III. Cierco would nab the Jackstar Super High Roller event cashing $ 26,008, becoming the first foreign player to do so. This would provide impetus for a productive 2022 season with deep runs at the Australian Poker Tour Brisbane Season V, 2022 Treasury Poker Festival- Brisbane plus a win at the Alpha Event of the World Poker Tour League Tweed Coast – Quarterly Poker Championship, adding $ 44,248 to his live-cash earnings. These showings would only be a lead up to one of Cierco’s career highlights. In March, the expatriated Frenchman would collect a career-best live-cash of $ 152,850 at the World Poker Tour DeepStacks Sydney, finishing third in the Main Event.

Rush of Wins

Anthony Cierco made a brief foray in the World Series of Poker Las Vegas and European Poker Tour with moderate success. In 2023, the French card player would pivot to Asia and prove this to be a wise decision. Cierco would make a runner-up finish in his first appearance at the Asian Poker Tour Taipei Mystery Bounty Event before eventually landing his first Asian trophy at the World Poker Tour Vietnam Opener. Cierco pocketed a cash  of $26,956 plus the coveted WPT Prime Championship Package.

In 2024, the Frenchman would add a first win on Philippine soil with twin wins at the PokerStars Live Manila Megastack 18, nabbing the SuperDeep Freezeout and Mini High Roller events. Cierco would then back this up with a first and second place finishes at the Vietnam Poker League Hanoi High Roller Events, accruing a total payout of nearly $90,000.

The steady performances in Asia would allow Anthony Cierco to break the 500K milestone with current live earnings of $ 890,614. His GPI National ranking stands at number 15 in France.
