Day 1B of the $500,000 guaranteed Championship Event has come to an end with 15 players surviving, with play stopping before Level 14 was completed.

The flight drew 119 entries, bringing the combined field from Day 1A and Day 1B to 243 entries. With 21 players already through from Day 1A, a total of 36 players will return for Day 2 on August 23.

Leading the Day 1B survivors is Linh Tran, who bagged a massive 733,000 chips (147 big blinds). Tran held the chip lead for much of the flight and finished with a commanding stack.

Interestingly, Tran went straight from bagging into the $1K Hyper Turbo, where the momentum continued all the way to a second-place finish after a deal. Earlier, on August 19, Tran was also the champion of Event #36: Single Day HR Challenge 15/30 Sec.
