USOP Grand Finale About To Make Poker History, Opens Tomorrow!
The U Series of Poker – USOP Grand Finale is ready to take off tomorrow at the Pullman Grand Hotel in Hai Phong City Central, Vietnam.
USOP Grand Finale
In partnership with the Crown Poker Club, running for 13 days from November 29 to December 11, 2024, the USOP Grand Finale is set to make poker history by outdoing their previous VND 60 Billion guarantee last September and now offering a VND 100 BILLION (~USD 4 million) guarantee covering 69 events, making it the largest guarantee in Vietnam poker history and USOP history.
This event is expected to smash all of the brand’s previous numbers as indicated by the Early Bird Packages that have already sold out for the Main Event and High Roller events. Aside from the biggest names in Vietnam poker, players also confirmed to attend are Konstantin Held, Ryan Johnson, Max Menzel, Jun Li, Ivan Ermin, Neliahu Cohen, and of course USOP Ambassador Kyle Bao Diep. The first major event to open the series on November 29 will be the multi-day Madness Kick Off. In the recent USOP Hai Phong back in September 2024, this event exceeded all expectations, drawing 1,324 entries and a prize pool of VND 9.965 Billion. Sweden’s Johnni Kranker Nielsen won the event for VND 1.65 Billion (US$ 65,000).
The Mystery Hunter is always a crowd favorite and it comes in with an even larger than the opener featuring VND 20 Billion (~US$ 788,500). This is the first time it will be offered in Hai Phong. Buy in is VND 20 Million (~US$ 790).
The most anticipated event is the Main Event with a historic VND 40 Billion (~US$ 1.475 Million prize pool guaranteed, outdoing their previous main event guarantee of VND 15 billion. With seats priced at a reasonable VND 35 million (~US$ 1,330), the Main Event is geared up to attract one of the biggest fields in Vietnam poker history.
Looking to defend the Main Event title will be South Korea’s Juyeol Lee, who was crowned Main Event champion back in September’s USOP Hai Phong series. The Main Event will have four day-one qualifiers beginning on December 5, 2024.
Another big event is the Championship Event with another historic prize pool guarantee of VND 20 Billion (~US$ 788,500) easily topping its previous VND 4 Billion guarantee. Hopefully, China’s Tianhao Zheng will be in town to defend his title when the multi-day tournament kicks off on December 8, 2024.
Of course, the High Roller Championship event is also one of the main attractions of the Grand Finale. While its modest VND 2.5 Billion (~US$ 100,000) guarantee may seem small, the VND 150 million (~USD 6,000) buy-in from hundreds of entries easily surpasses the guarantee to a lot more. Bogdan Munteanu of Romania holds the title from the last USOP Hai Phong series and hopes to be at the felt when the cards are dealt for the Day 1 leg on December 9, 2024.
As an added bonus, the festival offers a 50% tournament fee back on all High Roller events. That’s right– double the action, half the fee! The first 16 players who buy in and get their chips into play before the first hand is dealt will be given this rewarding bonus.
