New Tournament Options Emerge in Taipei as Guarantees Climb
Players in Taipei have been given more to think about this week, with a pair of newly announced tournaments adding fresh options to an already busy schedule in the city.
During the ongoing APT Taipei 2026 festival, organizers introduced an additional TWD 3,500 buy-in event carrying a TWD 6,000,000 guarantee, offering a lower buy-in alternative within the series.
APT’s additional event forms part of a wider series of promotions tied to its 20-year anniversary celebrations, which have included a number of player-focused initiatives and added value across the schedule.

Shortly after, at the newly opened Win Win Poker venue , WWP Series 2 confirmed a significant upgrade to its Main Event, increasing the guarantee to TWD 10,000,000, doubling the originally announced TWD 5,000,000.
The event runs from April 30 to May 3, directly overlapping with APT’s Labor Day Monster Stack, which carries a TWD 6,000,000 guarantee, with both events taking place across the same dates in Taipei.
WWP’s Main Event features a TWD 5,000 buy-in (TWD 4,200 + 800) and includes a TWD 2,000,000 guaranteed top prize alongside a range of added incentives.
While the announcements were made independently, the timing has naturally drawn attention, with both events now sitting side by side on the schedule during the same festival window.

More Choice for Players
For those already in Taipei, the result is simple. More choice.
The additional events provide alternatives across different buy-in levels, giving players flexibility depending on bankroll, format preference, or availability between APT events.
WWP Series 2 also introduces a re-entry bonus structure, rewarding players who qualify multiple times across starting flights, while further value is added through tickets to the TLPT Jeju Main Event for final table finishers and select qualifiers.
Taipei Poker – A Growing Market
The overlapping announcements also point to a broader trend, with Taipei continuing to grow as a destination for live tournament poker in Asia.
With strong attendance already seen at APT Taipei, the addition of further guaranteed events suggests increasing confidence in the local player pool, as well as the number of travelling players in the city.
Whether viewed as coincidence or competitive timing, the end result is a fuller schedule and increased value for players, a positive outcome for the local poker scene.
