Welcome To The Red Dragon Poker Tour 2025

The Red Dragon Poker Tour made its debut at the UNESCO World Heritage island just last year and the response was tremendous. While players from Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan showed strong support, it was the Chinese contingent that turned out the largest numbers. Out of the 35 trophy events, 25 were claimed by Chinese nationals including the Red Dragon Championship.

This following is only expected to increase with the brand already a fixture in many player calendars. For those just hearing of the RDPT 2025, this is a mid-tier festival with tournament buy-ins ranging from ₩600,000 (~US$ 420) to ₩12,000,000 (~US$ 8,400).

Baby Dragon Kicks Off Opening Day

To kick off the games, the RDPT 2025 opens with the highly popular Baby Dragon event. Three entry flights are available from May 1-2, with buy-in at ₩1,500,000 (~US$ 1,035). This is followed by Day 2 / Final Day where the first featured event champion will be crowned with numerous prizes including an exclusive Red Dragon Champion’s Jacket. More on that at the bottom of the page.

To give players an idea of this event’s attraction, last year a storm of 620 entries was seen for a prize pool of KR₩ 670 Million, roughly US$ 484K. You can bet that number will be scorched.

Day 1A runs on May 1 with cards in the air at 3pm. Day 1B and Day 1C run on Friday, May 2 at 12pm and 6pm. You can follow the action via the SMP Live Updates.

Entering players start with 30,000 in chips which is 150 times the opening blinds. Day 1A and Day 1B will see blinds increase at a gradual 30 minute pace while Day 1C Turbo runs a faster 20 minute blinds. Registration closes at the end of Level 10.

For those that fall short or miss the chance to register, there are two evening events to try to hoist a trophy, both are single day tournaments- Big Bounty Turbo (₩800K buy-in) and Hyper Turbo (₩600K buy-in).

Red Dragon Championship

The flagship Red Dragon Championship takes control of the tournament floor starting May 4 and will run until May 9. Upping the bar to a massive KR₩ 2 Billion (~US$ 1.38 million) guarantee, this is just one-fifth shy of its current record.

At the brand’s inaugural Jeju run, this event drew 1,337 entries for a KR₩ 2.56 Billion (~US$ 1,875,480) prize pool. With the brand’s momentum and growing international appeal, expectations for an even larger turnout this year are not only realistic but highly likely.

Travel Tips And Free Airport Shuttle

Cherry blossoms in Jeju

Getting to Jeju is a breeze, with numerous direct flights available from major cities across Asia. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Jeju also offers visa-free entry for many nationalities. However, be sure to double-check the visa rules—while Jeju itself may not require a visa, travelers flying in through mainland South Korea may need one, since the final leg to Jeju is considered a domestic flight.

As for accommodations, well, the best choice is of course staying on property at the Jeju Shinhwa World Resort. There are three five-star hotels to choose from  – Landing, Shinhwa Hotel, and Marriott Resort. These hotels are all walking distance to the casino.

In terms of weather, May is a great time to visit as it is spring in the island and it is not peak season for tourists. Once you are in Jeju, be on the lookout of the RDPT staff wearing red vests. They will direct you to the shuttles which are free and run pretty much all day.
