Day 1 of the three-day Red Dragon Prestige High Roller wrapped up with intense competition on the tournament floor. The premium KRW 8,000,000 (~USD 5,285) buy-in event attracted a strong field of 60 entries, but by the time the bags came out, only 22 players successfully punched their ticket to Day 2.

Topping the survival list is China’s Wenchao Liu, who built a towering stack of 1,770,000 chips (177 big blinds). Liu secured his commanding chip lead through two major confrontations during the final stretch of the evening. He first cracked Lei Yu’s pocket queens with a runner-runner flush, and followed it up shortly after by flopping trip queens to eliminate a freshly bought-in Quang Minh Nguyen .

Chasing closest behind the leader is Quan Zhou , who locked up the second-place spot overnight with an impressive stack of 1,458,000 chips. Rounding out the top three podium spots is Vietnam’s Nang Quang Nguyen , who finished the night with a healthy 1,207,000.

Right behind the leading trio is Wing Yin Lee , finishing the night with 1,138,000 chips. Lee, the lone woman remaining in the field, put on an absolute clinic during the final level of the night. She won back-to-back massive pots to vault up the leaderboard, orchestrating the eliminations of both Zhili Zhou and Lee Wee Liew before the final buzzer sounded.

For players still looking to join the field, the door hasn’t closed yet. Registration remains widely open for the first two levels of Day 2. The surviving 22 players will return to the tournament floor today at 1:00 PM local time, and late entries will have until approximately 3:15 PM local time to jump straight into the action.

The flagship mid-stakes KRW 2,200,000 (~USD 1,475) buy-in Baby Dragon Plus drew a massive crowd of 430 entries across two days and four flights, generating a prize pool of KRW 817,344,000 (~USD 540,000).

Only 66 players survived the qualification minefield to book their place in today’s Day 2. While every returning player has officially locked up a minimum cash of KRW 4,410,000 (~USD 2,910), all eyes remain firmly fixed on the top prize of KRW 169,004,000 (~USD 111,650) waiting at the top for the eventual champion.

Leading the charge into the business end of the tournament is Zhi Ye, who accumulated a massive chip-leading stack of 928,000 (116 big blinds). Hot on his heels is Japan’s Ryoya Enomoto with 831,000 (104 big blinds), while Zhihua Yang completes the top three podium spots with 778,000 (97 big blinds).
