Okada Manila Millions Main Event Kicks Off; Edgar Asehan Leads 69 Survivors from Day 1A & 1B

The Okada Manila Millions has reached its eighth day of action at PokerStars LIVE Manila, with the flagship Main Event finally getting underway. A combined 586 entries across Day 1A and Day 1B have been whittled down to 69 survivors, all set to return for Day 2 on Saturday with a shot at the lion’s share of the PHP 6M GTD prize pool.
Day 1A: Enriquez Sets the Pace
Day 1A drew a strong field that filled up quickly, with a healthy mix of local pros and international regulars taking their seats throughout the session. Of the entries in the opening flight, 45 players bagged up to advance, with Filipino pro Kim Enriquez leading the way with 651,000. A familiar face at PokerStars LIVE Manila events, Enriquez reached the final table of APPT Manila 2025 and has long been one of the country’s most consistent tournament performers.
France’s Victor Cherki bags in second with 518,000, while India’s Acharya Anant rounds out the top three with 496,000.
The bubble was a relatively brief affair. With Dakota Anderson as the field’s short stack, his hopes of bagging took a blow when a possible elimination at another table went the other way on one of the first hands of the bubble, leaving him to be blinded into his final hand shortly after. Simultaneous eliminations across two tables ended the bubble in dramatic fashion, with both Anderson and Rowell Ama hitting the rail one spot from the money. With PokerStars LIVE rules requiring players to bag chips to secure a payout, neither collected a cash.
