Day 1C of the Okada Manila Millions Main Event has officially concluded at Okada Manila, with a strong field of 390 entries reduced to just 47 survivors, all of whom are guaranteed a payout and a seat in Day 2 on Saturday.

Leading the pack is Reynaldo Ong, who surged through the late levels after picking up several key pots to finish the day with 540,000 chips. Hot on his heels is John Riad, who also found late momentum and bagged 521,000 for second overall.

Rounding out the top three is Xianmeng Zhang with 414,000, boosted by one of the biggest pots of the day after flopping trips and improving to a full house on the river against Shinho Choi, a pivotal hand that briefly pushed him into the chip lead during the session.

Day 1A Action

Halfway through Day 1C of the PokerStars LIVE Okada Manila Millions Main Event, the initial PHP 6,000,000 (~USD 99,400) guarantee was already surpassed, with a total of 976 entries recorded across the first three flights.

The day featured several big pots decided on later streets, including multiple runner-runner outcomes. Early in Level 2, Chungik Lee picked up a significant pot after cracking Justin Ong’s flopped trips by completing a runner-runner straight.

Euijoon Jeon had a great run as well. He beat a pair of kings with just a six-four by hitting three-of-a-kind on the flop. Later, he made a runner-runner flush to knock out another player. His biggest moment was a four-way all-in where he knocked out three players in a single hand. Jeon finished with 312,000 chips.

The field also included Philippines’ all-time live earnings leader Mike Takayama, who was unable to secure a Day 2 bag in this flight, with four more remaining in the series still available for qualification.

The Final Elimination

Play moved quickly into the final stages, with eliminations coming in succession as the tournament reached the money phase. The last hand before the bubble saw Gilson Chan move all in with king-ten and get called by Kakinuma Daisuke holding ace-jack. An ace on the flop put Daisuke ahead, and he held through the turn and river to eliminate Chan one spot short of the money.

With that hand, the bubble stage was reached and the remaining 47 players locked up a payout and a Day 2 seat.

Bubble Bursts as Chan Becomes Final Elimination Before the Money

Action continued at a rapid pace as players were unaware that the tournament had already reached the money stage following a series of back-to-back eliminations.

The final hand of the bubble saw Gilson Chan move all in and at risk with king-ten, only to run into Kakinuma Daisuke, who held ace-jack with a covering stack.

The flop brought an ace, immediately giving Daisuke top pair and control of the hand. Chan was unable to recover, and Daisuke’s ace held through to the river, sending Chan out just one spot shy of the money.

With that elimination, the bubble officially burst and the 47 remaining players locked up a payout.

Anderson was relieved he didn't make the call. "I had sevens, I know you're not supposed to call there but I wanted to," he added jovially.

Cutoff Froilan De Guzman raised to 9,000 the next hand and collected the blinds uncontested, before small blind Yasutoyo Yamamoto shoved for around 34,000 and picked up Anderson's big blind.

Anderson then limped in and Cheng Jing Lim checked his option, before a 4,000 bet on the J♦ 4♥ 8♣ flop was enough to take the pot.

With about 34,000 in the middle and the board reading 6♠ 6♥ 4♣ 8♥ , the action exploded. Shinho Choi, playing out of position, check-raised to 53,500 after Zhang had fired a bet of 16,000. Zhang made the call fairly easily, bringing the K♦ on the river.

Choi led out again, this time for 32,000. Zhang wasn't finished, firing back with a massive raise to 80,000. Choi hesitated briefly before finally committing the chips to call.

Zhang turned over K♣ 6♣ for a sixes full of kings, leaving Choi no choice but to muck his hand. The massive scoop sends Zhang to the top of the counts as the field continues to narrow down.

Incredibly, the PHP 6,000,000 guarantee has already been broken on just the third of seven scheduled starting flights. With four more flights to go, the prize pool is set to soar well beyond the initial guaranteed.

From the Day 1C field, 152 players are still in action. However, the path ahead is narro, only 47 players (roughly 12% of the flight) will make the money and secure a bag for Day 2.

Play will continue until the bubble bursts at 48 players. Once that final elimination happens, the remaining 47 players will have officially locked up a payout and punched their ticket to the Day 2 of the tournament.

In the big blind, Lorelyn Estacion, the only woman currently in the field, squeezed to 1,500. Both Saborit and Carlson called to bring three players to the flop.

The dealer fanned T♦ 8♣ 7♠ , where Estacion and Saborit checked to Carlson, who fired a pot-sized bet of 4,000. Estacion quickly stepped aside, while Saborit made the call.

Okada Manila Millions Main Event Continues With Day 1C and 1D

The Okada Manila Millions Main Event continues today at the PokerStars LIVE room inside Okada Manila after the completion of the first two starting flights, which have already combined for 586 entries.

Day 1A drew 383 entries, with 45 players advancing to Day 2. Kim Enriquez finished as chip leader with 651,000 in chips. The day ended with a double bubble elimination, leaving Dakota Anderson and Rowell Ama just outside the money.

Day 1B added 203 entries to the field, with 24 players moving on to Day 2. Edgar Asehan bagged the overall chip lead with 653,000.

Action resumes today with Day 1C starting at 12:00 PM, followed by Day 1D at 5:00 PM. Players will once again battle for a place in Day 2 and a guaranteed payout.
