Chi Jen Chen Wins Titan Stack Daily as Takuma Leads High Roller at GOP Taipei

Day 3 of The Trial of Wisdom – GOP Taipei 2026 belonged to a local favourite. Taiwanese pro Chi Jen ‘CJ’ Chen took down the third TWD 1M GTD Titan Stack Daily, denying Shi Rong Wang a repeat win in the process.

Over in the Gods of Poker High Roller, Japan’s Shinnosuke Takuma went from ten big blinds to a commanding chip lead, setting up a three-way battle for the second gauntlet of the series at CTP Asia Poker Arena .

Chi Jen Chen Wins the Titan Stack Daily

The third edition of the TWD 11,000 Titan Stack Daily drew 92 entries against its TWD 1,000,000 guarantee, leaving a small overlay once again.

Opening-day winner Shi Rong Wang built a commanding lead through the latter stages and looked set for a second title, but Chen doubled through him twice at the final table, then eliminated Chuyi Huang in third with king-queen against pocket eights to set up heads-up against Wang.

The title was decided in one hand, Wang’s ace-ten against Chen’s ace-jack, with a queen on the river completing a straight for Chen. Wang took TWD 172,900 for second, adding to his opening-day win, while Chen collected the trophy and TWD 279,000.

Chen is one of the best-known names on the Taiwanese circuit . He won the APL Taiwan Main Event at the CTP Club in 2019, topping 298 entries for TWD 1,278,500 (~$41,474), and made a deep run in the 2024 WSOP Main Event, finishing 67th for $140,000. According to The Hendon Mob, he has more than $1.2 million in total live earnings.

Speaking after the win, Chen said supporting the series was a big part of why he was playing. “I love Gods of Poker – great structure and a very reasonable fee,” he said. “Lloyd has put a lot of effort into this tournament, and I’m here to support his series.”

He came into the final table short and relied on picking his spots. “I was very lucky to win some flips, and I tried to play tight,” he said. “But when I had position, or when I was in the small blind, I tried to be aggressive, because they have to call really tight. I won the flip, we got heads-up, and I got two hands in a row. I was ahead, so it worked.”

As for the rest of the festival, Chen is keeping it simple. “Try to play as much as I can. Maybe win another one.”

Takuma Surges to GOP High Roller Chip Lead

Flight A of the TWD 165,000 GOP High Roller saw Sweden’s Mikael Andersson knock out two-time gauntlet winner Rudy Edenata twice, while Rene von Reden surged into a massive lead four-handed.

That was before Takuma found his rush. Down to around ten big blinds, he doubled through Rob Hollink and von Reden, then made a big hero-call on the river with ace-nine for top pair against von Reden’s queen-jack bluff.

He finished the flight by sending Andersson out with ace-king against king-queen, bagging 1,126,000 to von Reden’s 329,000. Takuma also picked up a trophy later in the night, taking the Hyper Turbo High Roller for TWD 129,600.

In the turbo Flight B, Fendy Kosasih won two all-ins in a row against Edenata to advance with 480,000. The three survivors return on Day 4 for a share of the TWD 2,304,000 prize pool and the GOP gauntlet.

Trophies Elsewhere on Day 3

Japan’s Fumito Murayama became the first two-time champion of the series, beating fellow countryman Kenta Saito heads-up in the TWD 16,500 Midday Mid-Stakes for TWD 108,000. Hong Kong’s Ming Pui Cheung won the Aphrodite’s Event for TWD 28,800, overcoming Jade Kosasih heads-up.

Japan’s Yusuke Hinaka claimed the PLO Bounty for TWD 20,200, and Xiaoxu Chen beat Malaysia’s Maximillion Woollaston heads-up in the Hyper Turbo for TWD 23,100.

Accumulator Flight C

The third flight of the TWD 3,000,000 guaranteed GOP Accumulator drew 45 entries, bringing the total field to 119. Seven more players bagged chips, joining the ten survivors from Flights A and B.

Day 4 opens at 12:30 p.m. with the GOP High Roller final day, where Takuma, Kosasih, and von Reden battle for the second gauntlet of the series. The TWD 11,000 Titan Stack Daily runs alongside with its TWD 1,000,000 guarantee, plus a 5-Card PL Omaha Double Board Bomb Pot.

The evening brings the first TWD 7,700 Satellite to the GOP Main Event at 7:00 p.m., awarding a seat to anyone reaching 200,000 in chips, and Accumulator Flight D.
