Day 7 of GOP Manila 2026 brought tournament play as the last two starting groups (Flight D and Flight E) of the Main Event played out inside the Grand Ballroom at City of Dreams Manila .

Both flights ended with plenty of drama, locking in the final group of players advancing to Day 2. On top of the Main Event action, eight side events also finished, giving out trophies to their winners to complete a busy day.

Moon Eliminates Tech to Burst Flight D Bubble

GOP Manila
John Tech

Action in Flight D reached a climax on the bubble. John Tech , known for his lively bubble antics, folded on the flop, leaving himself with just 131,000 chips behind-saving enough for his upcoming small blind and a single chip left. Tech remarked, “Enough for the small blind and one chip left; I am not an idiot,” eyeing a potential orbit survival.

On the very next hand in Tech’s big blind, Young Min Kang raised to 100,000 before Stevie Moon three-bet jammed the button for 740,000. Tech called off his remaining stack, and Kang folded. Tech turned over pocket jacks, but Moon held the superior pocket aces. The board ran out no aces and no jacks, eliminating Tech on the bubble as the remaining 15 players bagged up for Day 2, while Flight E continued late into the night.

Lagatuz Eliminated on Flight E Bubble

GOP Manila
Jeorge Lagatuz

Jeorge Lagatuz pushed all-in from early position for 594,000. Yohn Paredes called all-in from the cutoff for 232,000, and Fendy Kosasih asked for a count on the larger stack before calling on the button.

The floor was called to clarify payout rules in the event of a double elimination on the bubble, specifically whether a player had to survive to Day 2 to secure a payout. Under that scenario, the shorter stack (Paredes) would be the official bubble, while the larger stack would receive a min-cash payout.

Once play resumed for the showdown, the board ran out safely for Paredes, who held aces to triple his stack. Kosasih collected the side pot to finish the hand in profit, while Lagatuz missed all his outs and was eliminated as the bubble boy.
