Times have changed since the Asian Poker Tour first set foot in Jeju, South Korea in 2013. Back then, poker was in its infancy stages in the region and growing ever so slowly. Fast forward a decade, the scene is unrecognizable. Players now pour in nonstop, and under new ownership, the APT skyrocketed to new heights.

Today, the APT stands as the most coveted tour in the region, its dominance reflected in the staggering turnouts at every stop. Taking a look at the three festivals held this year  – Manila, Taipei, and Incheon – the record breaking numbers alone are enough to make you do a double take.

  • APT Incheon : KR₩ 15,296,871,770 (~US$ 11 Million) festival prize pool
  • APT Taipei: NT$ 612,000,000 (~US$ 20 Million) festival prize pool
  • APT Manila Classic : PH₱ 350,124235 (~US$ 6,015,880) festival prize pool

And now, for its fourth event of the season, the APT returns to Jeju for its second consecutive year bringing with it a ten-day festival running from September 26 to October 5 at Landing Casino at Jeju Shinhwa World .  Once again, players will have their shot at big prizes and at the coveted APT lion trophies. With the bar set high, let’s have a look at what APT has prepared for everyone.

APT Jeju 2025

APT Jeju 2025

The upcoming APT Jeju 2025 comes in hot featuring a massive 103-event schedule and KR₩ 4.9 Billion (~US$ 3.4 Million) in guaranteed prize pools. If history is an indicator of what lies ahead, then that monetary figure is merely a starting point. Last year, the brand crushed it in Jeju with over KR₩ 12 Billion (~US$ 8.6 Million) in prize pools across 87 events.

With a larger lineup this time around, and buy ins ranging from as low as KR₩ 400,000 (~US$ 285) to an eye-popping KR₩ 35,000,000 (~US$ 25,000), the festival has the potential to be more popular than previous as APT assures something for everyone. And since nearly every day is packed with highlighted tournaments and fan-favorite side events, players will undoubtedly be glued to the felt – and perhaps will even struggle to juggle such a loaded schedule of choices.

The most sought after title will of course be the APT Main Event which carries a KR₩ 2.2 Billion (~US$ 1.57 Million) guaranteed prize pool. This event runs from September 28 to October 3 with four entry flights scheduled and registration open for one hour in Day 2.

Last year, this event’s 1,089 entries built a prize pool over KR₩ 2.376 Billion equivalent to US$ 1.72 Million. At the time, it was the largest APT Main Event prize pool in South Korea until the recently concluded APT Incheon 2025 surpassed it. Chinese pro Xixiang Luo shipped it for a payout of KR₩ 429,292,500 (~US$ 311.8K).

Events With Big Fields Expected

In 2024, the events listed below were the most popular and are expected to deliver just as strongly this year. Some champions turned their buy-in between 30 to 70 times over. At the Main Event, the top prize was 171 times more than the buy-in!

One that stands out this year is the Sunday Superstack which is now priced at KR₩ 500K which is less than half of last year’s buy in! The potential to more than double its previous turnout is very high.

Though only one is listed below, all of the Single Day High Roller events proved highly popular last year, each drawing well over 100 entries. Similar turnouts are anticipated this time around.

With Jeju establishing itself as a premier destination for elite players, the multi-million KR₩ buy-in high roller events are expected to attract the creme de la creme. Among those likely to return are past attendees: APT Jeju Main Event reigning champion Xixiang Luo, Joseph Cheong, Weiran Pu, Marc Rivera, Jun Hao, Wu, Jun Obara, and Daisuke Ogita.
