Asia’s Poker Spotlight Shifts to Taiwan: APT Taipei 2026 Kicks Off April 22

The wait is nearly over for players across the Asia. In just a few days, the Asian Poker Tour (APT) lands in Taiwan for its second big event of the 2026 season. Starting this Wednesday, April 22, the 12-day festival will take over the Asian poker scene, running through May 3. The festival will run across two venues in Taipei, Asia Poker Arena (APA) and Red Space , to accommodate the expected volume of players.

170 Events For Every Type Of Player

Headlined by a Main Event with a TWD 70 million (~USD 2.2 million) guarantee, APT Taipei 2026 features a 170-event schedule with options for every type of player.  Buy-ins range from TWD 3,500 (~USD 110) to TWD 777,000 (~USD 25,330) for the high roller events. With over TWD 207 million (~USD 6.5 million) in total guaranteed prize pools, the festival is a major event for the poker community across the region.

With mixed games becoming popular on the circuit, APT Taipei 2026 is leaning into the trend by offering more variety than ever. While Hold’em and Omaha still lead the way, the move toward specialized formats shows that Asian players are looking for new ways to test their skills beyond the standard games.

The schedule features 122 Hold’em tournaments and 27 Omaha events, but the real addition is the 26 Mixed Game events. This year, the series bridges the gap between traditional board games and the felt with unique events like Chess / Poker, Chinese Chess / Poker, and Go (Game) / Poker.

Ways to Earn An APT Championship Seat

A major incentive for players in this series is the chance to win a seat in the season-ending APT Championship (APTC). The tour is awarding 22 seats to the USD 5 million guaranteed finale, which takes place in Taipei this November. These seats, valued at USD 10,000 each, will go to winners and top performers in several key events, including the Main Event, the National Cup, and the Super High Roller.
