Pranav Agarwal Leads National Cup While Local Amateur Guan Lun Chen Stuns Pros In High Roller
The Asian Poker Tour (APT) Taipei 2026 series at Red Space and Asia Poker Arena is building huge momentum as the National Cup approaches its TWD 15 million guarantee. Today is the final chance for players to qualify through Flights E and F, with India’s Pranav Agarwal currently sitting as the overall chip leader. Meanwhile, local amateur Guan Lun Chen secured a career-defining victory in the Event #4: High Roller – Ultra Stack , outlasting a tough field to take home the title and TWD 1,429,820 (~USD 45,680).
Pranav Agarwal Lead The Way In APT National Cup
The APT National Cup is off to a fast start in APT Taipei 2026. The TWD 12,000 (~USD 380) buy-in event is already close to hitting its TWD 15 million (~USD 477,000) guarantee. After four opening flights, the field has reached 1,379 entries.

India’s Pranav Agarwal ended the day as the overall chip leader across all four flights with 1,995,000 chips. He led the way in Flight C, which was the biggest flight so far with 563 entries. Out of those, 79 players made the money, but only 28 players made it through to the Final Day. Taiwan’s Shao Fu Wang with 1,480,000 and Philippines’ John Tech with 1,310,000 also finished Flight C with strong stacks and remain in top contention.

Flight D saw another 271 entries. In this flight, 39 players cashed and 14 players advanced. Taiwan’s Tzu Shiang Chen took the top spot with 1,420,000 chips, followed by India’s Anuj Yadav with 1,350,000 and Germany’s Joshua Gebissa with 1,135,000.
The Field So Far

Between Flights A, B, C, and D, there are now 69 players ready for the Final Day. The prize pool has already reached TWD 13,569,360 (~USD 433,525). With Flight E scheduled at 11:00 AM today and a final Turbo Flight F set for 6:00 PM tonight, the field is expected to grow even further before the survivors return for the Final Day on Saturday, April 25.
Local Amateur Guan Lun Chen Denies The Pros In High Roller – Ultra Stack

Taiwan’s Guan Lun Chen took the win in Event #4: High Roller – Ultra Stack , outlasting a tough field of 97 entries. The two-day tournament ended with a total prize pool of TWD 5,447,520 (~USD 174,041).
Chen is a local amateur who played the game of his life to earn his first APT title and a top prize of TWD 1,429,820 (~USD 45,680). This is by far his biggest win yet, his previous best score was only around $6,500.

It wasn’t an easy win, as Chen had to face some very experienced pros at the final table. France’s Hugues Girard , who has won over $2 million in live poker, finished in second place for TWD 1,002,300 (~USD 32,021). Germany’s Martin Sedlak , a past APT High Roller winner, took third place for TWD 661,900 (~USD 21,146).
The final table also featured some other well-known names. Local content creator Charlie Chiu finished in ninth place, while Australian pros Joshua McCully and Yita Choong also made it deep into the money.
Final Chance To Qualify As National Cup Nears Guarantee

Today is the final day to qualify for the National Cup, with the prize pool expected to pass the TWD 15 million guarantee during Flight E, while registration for one of the festival’s biggest buy-ins, the TWD 500,000 Single Day Super High Roller, also opens at 11:15 AM at Red Space and remains open until 3:45 PM.
