APPT National Completes Starting Flights

All three starting flights of the APPT National (PHP 30,000, PHP 8,000,000 GTD) have now wrapped up, with the combined field pushing the total prize pool to PHP 15,500,000 - well clear of the guarantee. Day 1A drew 140 entries and sent 21 survivors through, led by Korea ‘s Juhyung Son with 595,000 chips. Day 1B was the biggest flight with 274 entries and 41 survivors, topped by Korea’s Gunah Kim with a commanding 965,000. The final table is currently underway and a champion will be crowned today.

PokerStars Red Dragon Day 1A Approaches the Bubble

The PokerStars Red Dragon (PHP 50,000, PHP 15,000,000 GTD) is also still live tonight, with Day 1A playing down toward the money bubble. 155 entries were recorded across the opening flight - a new record for a Red Dragon opening flight at this venue, eclipsing last year’s numbers. Reigning champion Justin Ong was in the field looking to defend his title, having won the event last year for PHP 4,680,585 (~USD 82,099), but was unable to secure a bag in Day 1A. 23 players will advance to Day 2 on Sunday, all reaching the money.
