The World Poker Tour has returned to Australia, bringing its premier Main Tour series to the country for the fourth time since 2022. This year, the spotlight shifts to the gorgeous city of Sydney, where the harbor city plays host to the 2025 WPT Australia festival for the first time.

Running since September 18 at The Star Sydney, the opening week has drawn big crowds signaling a possible record breaker in the midst. Action continues today, September 25 with the much awaited flagship event, the WPT Australia Championship, where one player will be etched in history as the first-ever champion of this event in Sydney. Awaiting that moment is the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
- Buy-in: AU $5,500 (~US $3,560)
- Day 1A: Thursday, September 25
- Day 1B: Friday, September 26
- Day 1C: Saturday, September 27
- Day 2: Sunday, September 28
- Day 3: Monday, September 29
- Day 4: Tuesday, September 30
- Final Day: Wednesday, October 1
The deep structure features three opening flights with a buy-in of AU $5,500 (~US $3,560). All Day 1 heats will see blinds increase every 60 minutes with a 15-minute break every two levels. Late registration closes at the start of Level 11, which is the final level of the night. Unlimited re-entries are permitted for all players however no multiple stacks are allowed.
Day 2 onwards will see blinds increase every 90 minutes then drops to half pace once the heads-up stage is reached. One in eight entries – approximately 12.5% of the field – will be in the money and the eventual winner will be etched in history on the Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup.
