The board comes K♦ 8♥ 3♣ T♠ A♣ , and Truong pairs his king on the flop and his ace on the river to win the pot with two pair and eliminate Nguyen on the Money Bubble.

The remaining 59 players are now bagging and tagging their chips for Day 2, which begins on Monday at 11:30 pm.

Following a min-raise, Najeem Ajez three-bets 55,000, Chong Jing Lee four-bets 110,000, initial raiser folds, Ajez calls. At the flop 6♠ 8♣ T♠ , Ajez check-raises all in, Lee tanks with 241,000 remaining then folds giving up his 40,000 flop bet.

From under the gun James Rann opens, to his immediate left, Tom Verbruggen three-bets 115,000 leaving himself 5000 behind. Action folds around back to Rann who pushes and Verbruggen reluctantly commits the rest of his chips.

Lin takes the pot, and shows 9♠ 6♠ for nine high with a lower open-ended straight draw. Even though he only had ten high, Nudurumati folded the best hand.

Patrik Demus looks down at Q♦ Q♣ from early position and raises to 16,000. Down the orbit Trong Hieu Ngo has A♥ K♦ and drives it up to 50,000. Demus punches back for116,000, Ngo shoves, Demus snap-calls.

With the board running low 3♣ 4♦ 7♠ 8♦ 2♥ Demus doubles up and sends Ngo down to just 2 bb.

Nevan Chang and a player enter a preflop battle of raises. Shorter stack three-bets70,000 leaving 4,000 behind, Chang shoves and the player commits his last chips. At the showdown, it's a flip with Chang holding A♥ K♥ against T♣ T♠ . The flop runs low until the turn and river are both aces.

Catching the action as the chips are being counted, a board showing 5♣ A♣ T♥ 9♠ 7♥ , and 235,000 roughly in the pot. Amit Kaushik's A♠ J♥ outkicks Rui Bouquet's A♦ 6♦ to double through.

Biggest hand of the day has come down between Najeem Ajez and Duy Anh Nguyen. Hand opens with a raise of 16,000 from under the gun+1 Nguyen, to his immediate left, Ajez three-bet 52,000, the rest of the table fold and it's back at Nguyen who four-bets128,000. Ajez steps on the brakes and calls.

Shai Arbel was once sitting on 900K now he has dropped significantly after a couple of losing sessions that included two showdowns. On the first bout, he calls Daniel Skoglund's 112,000 shove. Arbel is ahead with A♦ K♥ against Skoglund's A♣ 5♠ . However, the board favors Skoglund with a five on the flop that holds throughout a board 2♥ 3♥ 5♥ 6♠ J♦ . Next showdown was against Somashekhar Sanampuri whose Ace-King dominated Arbel's Ace-Jack.

Warrick Wee sees his 13,000 raise challenged by small blind Adam Friedman who makes it 40,000 to continue. Wee tank-calls. Heavier action follows at the flop A♠ 5♥ 7♥ with Friedman betting 27,000, Wee raising 70,000, Friedman answering back with an all in of 191,500. Well covered. Wee tanks for nearly three minutes then finds the guts to risk it.

Friedman has A♥ Q♥ , Wee has A♦ Q♦ , Wee sweats the turn 9♠ and river K♠ and is relieved at no other hearts finding the board.

With the board showing T♥ 7♦ 3♠ 9♠ on the turn, a player gets it all in from middle position for about 250,000 with A♥ A♦ , but she needs to improve to stay alive against the T♣ 7♣ (two pair, tens and sevens) of Shai Arbel, who is under the gun.

The river card is the 5♦ , and Arbel wins the pot with his two pair to crack aces and eliminate his opponent from Day 1B.

With 35,000 in the pot, and a flop showing 7♣ T♦ 7♠ , blinds check to Andres Vasquez who lays out 12,,000. Small blind Nabil Cardoso answers with a raise of 31,000, big blind Yannick Jobin three-bets all in for 73,000, Vasquez gets out of the way while Cardoso gives it a thought then calls.

Bad way to go for Hugue Girard with A♣ A♥ on hand. Following a button raise of 10,000 by Michael Smith, big blind Girard three-bets 29,000, Smith four-bet shoves and Girard snap-calls. Smith shows J♥ J♣ . The board runs a nasty Q♣ 6♥ J♠ J♦ 4♠ to bad beat aces with quads jacks.

Shai Arbel raises to 15,000 from the small blind and Hugues Girard calls from the big blind. Both invest 10,000 on the 6♥ 5♠ 3♣ flop and Arbel check-calls for 25,000 on the Q♦ turn.

Arbel checks the T♠ river and reluctantly folds when Girard bets 35,000.

Betting continues with big blind Tom Verbruggen also liking his cards and lays out a four-bet of 60,000. Action bounces back to Anh, he five-bet jams for 144,000 which gets a fold from Rann while Verbruggen calls.

The board runs 5♠ 7♣ 2♣ Q♥ 2♥ for a double up to Anh.

Thomas Ward opens then risks his last 760,000 after a player pushes all in. Ward has A♠ K♥ and outkicks A♣ Q♠ . The board further ensures his win as it runs 2♠ Q♥ 5♦ K♠ 6♦ .

Adam Friedman raises to 8,000 and Yunkyu Song then three-bets to 26,000 in the next seat. Julian Selinger jams for 95,000 in the next seat thereafter and Wailiang Tai calls all-in, Friedman folds and Song snap-calls.

Tai's Q♣ Q♠ are up against the T♥ T♦ of Selinger while Song has the best of it with A♥ A♣ .

Song nails the A♦ J♦ 3♦ flop but both opponents are alive, especially after the T♣ turn. However, the 9♣ river changes nothing and Song claims another two victims.

The blinds call Shane Saito's under the gun raise of 8000 and head to the flop 8♥ 4♣ J♣ . Action is checked to Saito, he continues for 10,000 only to be check-raised by small blind Duy Anh Nguyen o 30,000. Big blind folds, Saito follows behind.

Krisztian Torok raises to 8,000 and Adam Friedman calls, as does Vanluyen Tran. Javier Gomez jams for 123,500 and Torok folds, Friedman jams and Tran reluctantly folds.

Gomez flops with A♥ Q♥ against the T♠ T♥ of Friedman, who hits top set on the T♦ 5♠ 4♥ flop. The 7♠ turn seals Gomez's fate and the 5♥ river only improves Friedman to tens full.

Ivan Karatayev opens then calls a player's all in for around 11 big blinds. Karatayev's A♥ 3♥ is ahead of Q♣ T♦ and when the board 6♣ A♠ 2♣ 9♥ K♥ , the all in player packs up when the ace drops.

On a board A♣ J♣ 8♠ K♥ 2♠ with 57,000 in the middle, Laury Vanlerberghe goes all in for 49,500. This sends Yu Lin deep in thought then makes the call after a couple of minutes. Vanlerberghe reveals A♥ Q♣ that outkicks Lin's A♠ 9♠ to bag a double.

Ever since Rui Bouquet chunked Aditya Agarwal, he has been on a tear, winning pot after pot at his table. On his latest win, he cleans out Khoa Anh Ngo to rise to 620,000 in chips. During the hand, Bouquet calls a raise by a player from under the gun, Ngo three-bets 21,000 from the big blind which only Bouquet calls.

Both players proceed to check to the river A♥ A♣ 8♣ 6♦ 9♣ . Ngo checks once more Bouquet pushes his monster stack, Ngo tanks then commits it. Bouquet has A♠ T♠ trips and eliminates Ngo with K♣ K♦ .

Najeem Ajez three-bets 21,000 and doesn't shake the initial raiser Mikael Andersson. At the flop 6♣ 5♦ 8♥ chips go flying starting with Ajez's continuation bet of 17,000. Andersson check-raises 45,000, Ajez goes all in which is enough to push out Andersson from the pot.

Simas Karaliunas and Amin Riyazati stare down a pot of 41,500 and a flop 6♦ 3♦ 4♠ . Following a check, Riyazati bets 9000, Karaliunas answers with a check-raise all in that more than covers Riyazati. After a few minutes of contemplation, Riyazati decides not to risk it.

While almost all other players are already in the next 15-minute break, Javier Gomez is still involved a hand which ultimately leads to his double. With the A♠ 4♥ , he turns a wheel on the board of T♠ 3♣ 2♥ 5♠ J♦ and doubles for 31,500 to reach forty blinds once again.

In a preflop raising war, Mark Podvalnyi ultimately pushes all-in albeit very reluctantly while another Russian-speaking player next to him records the speech play and unfolding showdown, getting snapped off by Kien Tat Heng.

Almost all of the chips of Hugues Girard shifted to Shai Arbel.

Guy Taylor then vanishes from the table when he cannot call a river shove by Kyle Bao Diep on the T♥ 9♣ 3♠ J♣ 8♦ river, suspecting a bluff. "Oh no worries, if it's a bluff he will put it on his stories," the Brit jokes and busts the next hand.

On a board of T♠ 4♦ 4♥ 2♠ 3♦ , Sherif Derias loses a massive pot and all but the last7,500 in chips when he clashes with Shankui Li. Derias' K♠ K♣ are good enough for kings and fours but Li has the goods with 4♣ 4♠ for flopped quads.

From the button, Rui Bouquet has 3♦ 3♣ and raises it up to 5000. Big blind Aditya Agarwal defends with a three-bet of 20,000, Bouquet calls to see the flop land Q♠ 3♥ Q♥ . With his full house, Bouquet calls Agarwal's 15,000 continuation bet. On the turn 6♣ , Agarwal passes the betting, Bouquet bets a light 15,000, Agarwal takes the bait to head to the river 2♠ . Agarwal checks once more, Bouquet shoves 68,500, Agarwal tanks for a few minutes then hero-calls showing A♣ 9♦ only to lose nearly all of his stack.

Sajjad Al Mamun is all-in for 52,000 with the A♠ 9♠ and up against Ilan Hannich, who has the A♦ K♥ . The dominating ace falls behind on a board of 6♥ 3♣ 2♣ 9♦ Q♥ and Al Mamun earns a fortunate double.

Just after Pradeep Nudurumati wins the shove with J♦ J♥ over caller Simas Karaliunas's K♣ T♠ he shares with the WPT reporter how he lost his previous all in. In a four-way cooler, Nudurumati has Q♥ Q♠ and is up against A♣ J♠ , A♥ J♣ , and A♠ 2♦ . The board runs a doozy K♣ 6♠ 8♥ T♥ Q♦ , denying Nudurumati the triple elimination.

The blinds increase by a small margin to 1,500-3,000 with a big blind ante of 3,000 and there are some 151 players still in contention. Nearly two thirds of them will leave empty-handed as only the top 59 finishers are set to advance to the money stages from Day 1b.

On a flop T♣ 6♦ Q♦ , Yu Lin bets 6000 onto a pot of 12,500 and Krisztian Torok check calls to the turn 9♠ . Lin fires another 20,000 and again Torok check-calls. On the river J♠ , Torok moves it all in for 79,000, Lin agonizes then finally finds reason to call.

Torok opens up K♠ Q♣ top pair and wins the pot over Lin's J♣ T♦ .

Andres Vasquez is involved in three-way action to the Q♠ T♦ 8♥ flop on which it checks to Amit Kaushik, who bets 3,500. A shorter stack check-raises to 15,000 and Vasquez clicks it back to 15,000. Kaushik folds, the short stack jams around 40,000 with queen-nine and Vasquez calls with king-jack.

The river is an ace and Vasquez improves to broadway.

Plenty of chips are in the middle with David Larson having invested 28,000. Jia Yi Low then moves all-in for 72,500 and forces out one opponent, while Larson is deep in the tank. The clock is called on Larson, and everyone else is ready to move with the table breaking.

Thirty seconds run down and Larson elects to fold, his table neighbour says she folded pocket jacks.

A short stack is all-in with the A♣ K♠ for 32,000 on the button and Vanluyen Tran gets it in holding the Q♦ Q♥ for 95,500. Muhammad Shamsudin looks both up holding the A♥ Q♠ but cannot get there on the T♣ 6♣ 2♥ 8♦ T♠ board, which gives the main and side pot to Tran.

Kristopher Rundquist folds when Khurshid Zaynutdinov jams over the top of a shorter stack and the latter shows 6♥ 5♥ . Zaynutdinov is ahead with A♦ Q♥ and makes trips on theAc A♥ 8♥ 6♠ 5♣ runout to reduce the field by one.

The blinds are now 1,500-2,500 with a big blind ante of 2,500 and there are 207 players out of 471 entries remaining. Day 1b will play as many 40-minute levels as it takes to reach the final 59 contenders, who will lock up a portion of the cash prize pool.

The $750,000 guarantee has already been surpassed with only two starting days, and a huge field is expected for tomorrow.

Two players are all in with Hyunkyou Park calling to push out the initial raiser. Park has A♣ A♠ and dominates A♦ T♦ and K♣ J♣ . The board runs 5♥ 5♠ K♥ 9♦ 2♠ for a double elimination.

Qinglin Li is all-in once again with 3♥ 3♦ this time and flops against Yita Choong, who has the A♣ T♣ . The 8♣ 7♥ 4♣ 8♥ 7♠ board counterfits the treys and Choong scores the knockout.

Rob Sherwood, runner-up of the 2024 WPT World Championship, is unable to spin up a late entry on Day 1b when he runs with A♣ J♥ into the K♥ K♦ of reigning WPT Player of the Year Yunkyu Song. Both players hit the ace-king high flop and that spells the end for Sherwood.

One table over, Thi Bao An Nguyen celebrates winning a big pot and grins "Ace high wins, I got pocket queens to fold". She soars near the top of the leaderboard with a big stack.

Tom Maguire open shoves, Rohit Bagwani three-bets and successfully isolates. Maguire is behind A♣ 4♣ against Bagwani's A♠ K♣ . No help arrives for Maguire on a board Q♠ 8♣ 3♥ T♠ 8♣ to pack up and head out.

Jiazhi Zhong kicks off the hand with a min-raise that late position Tero Laurila and big blind call. At the flop 9♦ 7♠ A♥ , Zhang continues for 5000 that only Laurila calls. More chips are fueled in the turn 9♥ with a bet of 13,000 from Zhang raised to 39,000 by Laurila, Zhang calls to complete the board 5♦ . Zhang slows to a check, Laurila shoves61,500, Zhang only has 48,000 behind and goes deep in the tank.

After a few minutes, the clock is called. Zhang is given another two minutes. He then folds and shows A♠ K♠ . A♠ Laurila is dragging in the chips, he lets Zhang choose a card and opens T♥ . Zhang says "you had Ace-Ten hearts?"

Qinglin Li is all-in with a very short stack and flips holding 3♠ 3♣ against the K♥ 9♥ of Elena Litvinyuk. On the J♠ J♥ 3♦ Q♥ 8♣ flop, Li flops a full house and dodges a straight flush.

Hunter Stevens raises to 4,000 and earns two callers out of the blinds including Nabil Cardoso and Michael Sideridis. On the T♠ 9♥ 8♦ flop, it checks to Sideridis who bets4,000. Stevens calls and Cardoso check-raises to 13,000 for Sideridis to call and Stevens to fold.

Cardoso bets big on the 8♠ turn and Sideridis tank-folds with fewer than ten blinds behind.

At one of the outer tables, Tom Verbruggen is in command with a stack of around300K that he uses to test his tablemates. After winning a pot on an uncalled raise from under the gun +1, he min-raises again and this time Huu Dung Nguyen gives him action.

On the flop 7♣ 9♥ 6♥ , Verbruggen continues for 7000, Nguyen calls, then they both check the turn 4♣ . On the river 5♥ , Verbruggen value-bets 3500 and wins the pot after Nguyen opts to fold.

Next hand, cutoff Mateusz Stanielewicz and big blind Verbruggen call a raise then at the flop 6♥ T♥ 5♦ action is checked to Stananielewicz who lays out 6200. Verbruggen check-raises 16,000 to get one fold while Stanielewicz answers with a shove of54,600. Verbruggen tanks then folds.

The next hand sees everyone fold to the small blind Verbruggen, he limps and big blind Hugo Machado checks. They both check to the turn T♥ Q♥ 9♦ T♣ . Verbruggen checks again, Machado bets 6500, Verbruggen calls. On the river 8♠ , Verbruggen leads out for 3000, Machado snap-folds.

Following a raise to 3,200 and a call, Hongru Zhang three-bets to 16,000 in the small blind. Only initial raiser Aladin Reskallah calls and they head to the A♥ 9♥ 3♦ flop. Zhang continues for 7,900 to earn a call and they check the 8♠ turn.

Zhang bets another 16,000 on the 6♣ river and Reskallah folds.

Joe Serock is all-in for fumes and called multiple ways. Kaifan Wang is the one to isolate on the A♥ K♠ 5♦ 9♥ turn with the A♠ T♣ and Serock is drawing dead already with the 8♦ 3♠ to make the 2♦ river a formality.

Serock leaves the seat and Rob Sherwood replaces him as late entrant.

Somasekhar Sanampuri raises from the hijack to 3,200, Siarhei Chudapal calls from the cutoff, and the player in the small blind moves all in for 44,000. Sanampuri calls, and Chudapal folds.

The small blind turns over 5♦ 5♣ , and needs to improve to stay alive against Sanampuri's A♠ A♣ .

The board comes 8♦ 6♦ 4♥ 8♥ Q♦ , and the small blind flops a gutshot straight draw, but improves no further. Sanampuri wins the pot with his pocket aces to eliminate his opponent.

With the final board showing 8♦ 7♠ 6♦ J♣ Q♣ and a little less than 20K in the pot, Jianfeng Sun moves all in under the gun for 27,400, and Daniel Byshell goes into the tank in the hijack.

Byshell tanks for a very long time before he calls, and Sun shows A♥ 9♠ for ace high. Byshell turns over 5♠ 5♦ to win the pot with an underpair and eliminate Sun.

Daiva Byrne is all-in for the last 10,000 with A♠ 9♠ and Hui Wang has her dominated with the A♥ K♣ . The A♣ 9♣ 3♣ 4♥ J♠ runout improves Byrne to two pair despite a mighty sweat.

With the final board showing 7♥ 5♥ 2♥ 8♥ Q♦ on the river, Yuki Nakada checks from the big blind, Pau Sanroma moves all in from UTG+1 for 55,000, and Nakada thinks for a moment or two before he calls all in for 30,700.

Sanroma shows 4♦ 4♣ for a pair of fours, but Nakada turns over J♥ 6♠ to win the pot with a jack-high flush and double up in chips.

Level 8 comes to an end, and Level 9 begins with increased blinds of 800-1,600 and a1,600 ante. Play continues without a break.

Two hands after the split pot, Jon Kyte is back in action with a three-bet of 8000 from late position. Big blind Jungsup Yun defends and initial raiser from under the gun Adam Friedman calls. At the flop T♠ K♦ T♣ , Kyte continues for 7000, both opponents check-call then they check the turn 3♦ . After two checks on the river 7♠ , Kyte shoves with a stack well covering both players, Yun folds, Friedman gives it some thought then folds as well.

Pannasa Prempluem bets the T♠ 9♠ 3♣ A♦ turn for 2,600 and Martin Sedlak check-calls. Sedlak leads the T♥ river for the minimum and earns a call to win the pot with A♣ 5♠ in the big blind.

After a flop of T♣ 6♣ 3♠ , the big blind gets his short stack all in with 6♥ 5♥ for a pair of sixes, but needs to improve to stay alive against the Q♠ Q♦ of Elena Litviniuk in the hijack.

The turn card is the K♥ , the river card is the J♥ , and the pocket queens hold up for Litviniuk to win the pot and eliminate her opponent.

Tien Dung Pham has already qualified to Day 2 but with a very short stack which he intends to improve on at Day 1B. However, he will have to re-enter as he falls to Pannasa Prempluem. Down to 9500, Pham raises all in with K♦ T♥ and is behind caller Prempluem's A♦ 5♣ throughout the board 7♦ A♥ Q♦ T♣ A♣ .

Nang Quang Nguyen is all-in with a severe short stack and called by three opponents. Chong Jing Lee bets the A♦ 3♥ 2♠ flop and isolates successfully.

"Not a good flop for me," Nguyen says and shows his T♠ 8♠ . Lee is well out in front with the A♣ 6♣ and the 3♣ 9♣ runout knocks out Nguyen.

Jon Kyte isn't too happy at the turnout of this hand however, he isn't complaining either having split the pot with Jungsup Yun. The hand opens with a 2500 raise from Yun at early position, Kyte three-bets 8000 from the button, Yun calls. They check it to the river 7♦ 3♥ 6♣ 7♥ 3♦ . Yun test Kyte with a bet of K♥ T♠ , Kyte tanks then finds reason to call with K♣ Q♠ king high. It's the right call with Yun showing K♥ T♠ to split it.

Pradeep Nurudumati is in deep trouble when he gets it in with K♣ T♥ on the T♠ 8♥ 5♠ flop, as Andreas Vasquez has 5♦ 5♣ for bottom set. The T♦ turn and K♥ river provide a miracle escape for the player from India.

Daisuke Ogita, Armon Van Wijk, and Apoorva Goel are in a hand that builds a pot of8800 preflop. More is pumped in on a board 8♠ 7♣ K♣ with Ogita initiating for 2500. Only Goel calls to the turn 2♥ . Ogita continues for 9500 and that's enough to win it.

Immediately following the hand, Ogita limps in from under the gun+1 then calls Armon Van Wijk's raise of 4000 at cutoff. On the flop and turn Q♠ A♦ T♦ 8♦ , Van Wijk sends out 3000 and 8500, Ogita folds to the turn bet.

Betting action for this hand provided by a few players at the table.

A player raises, Hui Wang calls from the cutoff, and Zhiqiang Meng reraises from the small blind. The next player folds, and Wang calls.

The flop comes J♣ 6♥ 3♦ , Meng bets, and Wang calls.

The turn card pairs the board with the 6♦ , Meng checks, Wang bets, and Meng calls.

The river card is the Q♠ , Meng bets 15,000, Wang moves all in, and Meng quickly calls with Q♥ Q♣ for the top full house, queens full of sixes.

But Wang turns over 6♠ 6♣ to win the pot with quad sixes and double up in chips.

Yita Choong gets his shorter stack in after the A♣ Q♦ 9♠ flop and tables A♥ T♥ , which has not so much to fear anymore. His table neighbour flips over the K♣ K♥ and the 8♥ 8♣ runout awards a double to the Aussie.

Catching the action on a board 3♠ 5♦ 3♦ 8♥ 6♠ and 32,500 in the middle, Zhiqiang Meng sends in 15,000 and for a brief moment, Hassaan Siddiq tanks. He makes the call then mucks to 9♣ 9♦ saying he had pocket Sevens.

Heavy preflop betting opens with a raise of 2000 from under the gun+1 Hunter Stevens, to his immediate left, Jaemoon Seok three-bets 6000, after players fold around back to Stevens he four-bets 12,000, and Seok puts the brakes with a call.

At the flop 5♥ 6♥ 6♣ , both players opt to slow down and and check to the turn 8♥ . Stevens resumes for 12,700, Seok flats, the river comes 9♣ . Again Stevens fires for a slightly larger 18,000, Seok tank-calls then mucks to A♥ 4♥ flush. When asked if he had jacks, Seok said he had kings.

It is unclear when exactly the chips go into the middle but it was certainly post flop when Luc Ramos has the best of it preflop with K♦ K♣ only to end up second-best to the A♥ T♥ of Nabil Cardoso. On a board of T♣ T♠ 6♦ 5♥ 3♦ , Cardoso flops trips and takes it all off Ramos.

With the final board showing 9♥ 3♥ 3♣ 2♠ 5♦ on the river and about 60K already in the pot, the player in the big blind moves all in for 14,200.

Donghyup Kim tanks for a while in the hijack before he calls, and the big blind says, "You win" as he shows T♠ 8♣ for a ten-high bluff.

Kim turns over 6♥ 6♣ to win the pot and eliminate his opponent.

With 23,500 in the middle to the T♣ 4♥ 3♣ 9♦ turn, Digvijay Lamba checks and calls a bet of 9,000 by Konstantin Held. He checks the 5♠ river and Held bets 20,000 with one T-500 chip behind. Lamba calls with Q♦ T♦ and Held reveals a bluff with a missed gutter, holding the Q♥ 8♥ .
