The APPT Manila Main Event continues today with the final starting day kicking off at 12pm. For the first time in history, the event guarantees PHP 55,000,000 (~US 941,200) which will likely be broken today with a combined 597 entries across the first two starters.
Day 1C is expected to be the largest it being the last chance for players to get in this pot. Buy in is PHP 80,000 (~USD 1,370) with re-entries allowed.
Players start with a 30,000 stack which is 300 times the opening blinds. Blinds increase every 40 minutes for all Day 1 flights then a looser 60 minutes for the rest of the tournament until three-handed where it drops to 30 minutes. Registration closes at the start of Level 11, at 7:10pm local Philippine time. Day 1C ends at the end of Level 15.
At Day 1A, 243 entries was the count with 42 players advancing to Day 2. Filipino Aldous Formanes - who won his seat via freeroll - bagged the chip lead equivalent to 168 bb at end of day. He is still the player to catch.
