Discover the Asia Pacific Poker Tour: APPT Insights

The Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) is a PokerStars sponsored regional tour with focus on the Asian and Pacific live poker market. It was established in 2007 with five stops in four different countries and the brand was among the first international tours to visit Australia and New Zealand. The APPT was held in conjunction with the Aussie Millions in Melbourne from 2014 until 2016, the latter of which was the last year the tour visited the southern hemisphere.

Other main locations during the early years foremost included the “Las Vegas of the East” in Macau, which became a center of live poker action in Asia for nearly a decade. The Philippines is the only other country to host regular APPT stops and continues to do so until now with the PokerStars Live Manila hub located inside of the Okada Manila complex.

The brand has held live stops for at least sixteen seasons with varying buy-in amounts for the flagship Main Events from as little as ~US$ 1,105 up to ~US$ 12,895 during the Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP) editions. In recent years, the brand has focused on a more condensed schedule with extended single and multi-day tournaments as part of each festival.
