Yosuke Sekiya - SOMUCHPOKER (2026)

Yosuke Sekiya is a Japanese professional poker player who has been extremely active in live tours across Asia, along with the WSOP in the USA. He has been a regular live tournament player for 5 years.

The earliest recorded cash for Sekiya came in May 2010, where he took home over USD$19,000 for 3rd place in an APPT side event. It took almost 2 and a half years before he surpassed this score, although he had a number of four figure scores and two small five figure ones in between. September 2012 saw Sekiya take 2nd place in the Macau Poker Cup Main Event, adding USD$97,848 to his bankroll in the process. Just 4 months later, at the Aussie Millions, he then won the Holdem/PLO mixed event, for another USD$43,495. The hot streak then continued, as he took 3rd place in the APT Manila Main Event 3 months later, for a further USD$48,700. He eventually claimed the 2012 Asia Player of the Year Trophy (APOY).

More than a year passed before Sekiya hit another major score, with two small five figure scores arriving, before a slightly larger USD$25,756 for 421st in the WSOP Main Event of 2014. One year later, Yosuke Sekiya managed his best finish in a WSOP event, when he took 17th in a USD$1,500 Holdem tournament for just over USD$19,000. He followed that up with 3rd place in the ACOP Spadie event in November 2015, adding a further USD$56,436 to his list of cashes.
