Career Earnings & Biggest Results

According to The Hendon Mob, Scott Margereson has $5,457,877 in recorded live tournament earnings and ranks inside the top 50 on England's All-Time Money List.

His career-best live score remains his victory in the 2018 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship.

Margereson topped 1,309 entries in the $3,500 Main Event, defeating Faraz Jaka heads-up to collect $696,740 and his first WPT title.

Another major victory followed at EPT Malta 2025 at Casino Malta.

Margereson won the €1,650 PokerStars Open Main Event, overcoming 1,845 entries to earn €423,700 ($497,329). The result remains the second-largest recorded live cash of his career.

Later that year, Margereson traveled to Taiwan for the APT Championship Taipei 2025.

He topped 156 entries in the Turbo Championship, collecting TWD 1,097,140 (~$35,000) and his first Asian Poker Tour title.

Margereson's results continued to grow during 2026.

At EPT Barcelona 2026, he won the €2,700 EPT Second Chance, defeating an 844-entry field for €361,060 ($421,287). The victory became the third-largest live cash of his career.

He also recorded a $122,444 fourth-place finish in a $1,600 Mystery Bounty event during the Wynn Summer Classic in Las Vegas.

Margereson then returned to Asia for APT Jeju 2026 at LES A Casino in South Korea.

After finishing third in a Single Day High Roller for KRW 45,060,000 (~$33,200), he went on to win the KRW 5 million APT High Roller.

Margereson topped 295 entries to collect KRW 252,850,000 (~$190,000) and the Rose Gold Mega Lion trophy.

The event generated a record KRW 1,274,400,000 (~$958,000) prize pool, making it the richest Korea-based APT High Roller in tour history.

Margereson defeated Yoshifumi Takahashi heads-up to secure his second APT title and a USD 10,000 seat to the APT Championship Taipei 2026.

Biography & Poker Background

Margereson represents the United Kingdom and is based in Chesterfield, England.

He built much of his early reputation online under the screen name "Aggro Santos."

The Hendon Mob records more than $7.8 million in online tournament earnings, alongside his live career total of more than $5.4 million.

Margereson's success online eventually translated into major live results around the world.

His biggest breakthrough came in 2018 when he won the WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship for $696,740.

He has since competed extensively across major festivals in Europe and the United States, including the World Series of Poker, WPT and EPT.

The second half of 2025 produced another major run of results. Margereson won the PokerStars Open Main Event at EPT Malta before traveling to Asia, where his APT Championship Taipei Turbo victory delivered his first APT trophy.

Asia has since become another important part of his live schedule.

Margereson's first Asian APT cash came at APT Manila in 2025 before his breakthrough title in Taipei. He returned for APT Jeju in 2026 and recorded five cashes during the festival, highlighted by the High Roller victory and his third APT trophy.

Play Style & Strategy

Margereson's online nickname "Aggro Santos" reflects the aggressive reputation he built during his online career, but there is limited detailed public strategy material covering his complete modern game.

His run to the APT Jeju High Roller title did provide insight into how he approached a major live final table.

Margereson was reduced to only nine big blinds during Day 2 before finding ace-king in a multi-way all-in against pocket tens and pocket queens. He improved to trip kings and suddenly found himself back in contention.

Margereson later explained that the hand, followed by two successful coin flips, allowed him to build enough chips to play far more hands and apply pressure.

He entered the final table as chip leader and eliminated several opponents on his way to heads-up play, including Wouter Beltz.

Margereson began heads-up against Yoshifumi Takahashi with approximately a 5:1 chip advantage.

The match lasted only one hand. Takahashi moved all in with ace-nine suited and Margereson called with king-eight offsuit. A king on the flop gave Margereson the lead, which held through the river to secure the title.

His victory in a Courchevel Hi-Lo event two days later also added another mixed-game result to a career dominated by No-Limit Hold'em.
