Profile

Steve Joonhee Yea hails from Korea and is a Fultilt Poker Pro.

Originally a Warcraft player, Yea started playing online playing freerolls to build a bankroll.  Due to his natural talent, he soon got out of the level and could be found multi-tabling around 10 ring games and 3 tournament games simultaneously.

Not long, Yea ventured into live tournaments and made his first cash earning in 2007 at the  $ 485 + 45 No Limit Hold’em event in the 2007 Legends of Poker, Los Angeles.  The following year, he made his biggest live earnings to date placing 2nd at the US$5,000+$300 NLH event in the Asian Poker Tour (APT) Macau.  In 2009, he once again took 2nd place at the  APT $ 2,500 + 200 No Limit Hold’em – Main Event for US$100,000.

Since then, he has been playing and consistently cashing in the United States playing in the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and other US tournament circuits as well in Asia playing major live poker events in the region.

In 2012, Yea won a minor event at the APT Deepstack event in Manila and in 2014 placed 2nd at the  HK$8800 NLH Spadie event in Asia Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) 2014 Asia Championship of Poker (ACOP), Macau.

Although, Yea is still yet to bag a major 1st place victory in a live setting, his successes and achievements can mostly be seen online as beyond the charts.
