Nipun Java - SOMUCHPOKER

Nipon Java, born in New Delhi, India is a professional poker player who now resides in the United States and plays mostly in the US live poker circuits.

Java has been playing the US circuit since 2009 but caught the attention of the community when he placed 5th in the LA Poker Open Championship Event in Los Angeles for USD$34,650. Although he consistently cashed in most tournaments he played in throughout the years, he did not win that kind of monies until July 2013 where he took down the Larry Flynt Grand Slam of Poker $170 No Limit Holdem (NLH) Event for USD$39,000. This was followed a month after, when he placed 4th in the2013 Legends of Poker, Los Angeles $160 NLHMega Million VII Event where he took home USD$63,545.

The year 2014 was a fantastic year for Java. At the beginning of the year on February, Java placed 2nd in theWPT – LA Poker ClassicNo Limit Hol’dem Playboy $500,000 Guarantee event and won USD$114,955. The following month, he stood victorious at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) CircuitNo Limit Hold’em Main Event winning USD$ 226,785 and the coveted WSOP Ring. Winning consistently in US live events throughout the year, Java wasn’t able to win a bracelet during the WSOP but placed 256th during the Main Event taking home almost USD$40,000.

His next significant cash finish came in 2015 at the 46th WSOP 6-Handed Pot Limit Event (PLO) where he was 1 place shy of winning a bracelet. In this event, he placed 2nd and won for himself USD$270,509.

Year after year, Java always got himself In-the-Money, making final tables and winning 5-figure cashes in most of the tournaments that he participated in.

He eventually made history in 2017 at the 48th WSOP $1,000 Tag Team event. Creating a last minute partnership withAditya Sushant from India,who is more normally seen in the Asian circuit, Java and Sushant won for themselves, and for India, the most prestigious trophy in the poker industry – a WSOP Bracelet. They were the last team standing and won the 1st place prize of USD$150,000. Java took USD$75,318 for his half of the effort.
