Martin Nielsen - SOMUCHPOKER

Martin Nielsen of Denmark made his debut live tournament play in 2022. The native from Faroe Islands is mainly an online player on GGPoker though the last 2 years have proven that he has the skills to compete on the live felt. Nielsen’s preferred variant is Short Dec and considers himself a full-time specialist of the game.

Martin Nelsen’s Poker Achievements

Martin Nielsen’s first foray in live tournament action immediately netted him a first-place finish at the European Poker Tour Prague in May 2022. Nielsen clinched the € 1,000 + 100 No Limit Short Deck Hold’em Event, banking his first live cash of $7,925. The Dane’s second tournament at the Venetian DeepStack Championship Series, Las Vegas in June 2022, landed him a best finish at 3rd in the $200 Bounty Event but was also able to cash at the Mid-States Poker Tour and Deepstack Championship Events to collect a total of nearly $22,000. Nielsen would return to online play for the next year.

July 2023 would put Martin Nielsen on the poker map when he would smoke a star-studded field of 106 entries on the final day of the 54th World Series of Poker Las Vegas. Nielsen clinched the $10,000 Short Deck No-Limit Hold’em Event and his first ever WSOP bracelet plus a first six-figure cash of $ 270,160. Nielsen bested some of the best players in the world including poker legend and 5-time bracelet owner John Juanda. This was Nielsen’s only second cash at the WSOP. But true to keeping his focus on online poker, the Dane would go off the live action grid and return only recently in March 2024 at the Short Deck Event of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series Jeju finishing second but nonetheless banking a career best cash of $ 655,000.

As of this writing, Martin Nielsen is nearing the $1 Million milestone in total live earnings with $956,814. A good enough motivation to perhaps increase his sightings at live felt action.
