As the Vietnam poker scene continues to draw international interest, local players like Khoi Nguyen are representing their country with impressive success. Relatively new to the poker scene, Nguyen earned his first live cashes in 2019, with a near victory at the APL Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City Kick-Off for his first five figure score of $10,400.

Returning to the live scene in 2023, Nguyen enjoyed deep runs at the local Hanoi festival – VSOP Championship Main Event, finishing 4th for a higher $17,000 score. This was followed by a 3rd place finish at the WPC III Star Challenge, his first high roller payout of $34,500. As for wins, he claimed numerous small titles, becoming the first player to win two events at the USOP Hanoi series. To close out 2023, Nguyen shipped the Crown Silver Poker Festival – High Roller Deepstack for $17,300.  To date, Khoi has over USD 200,000 in live earnings.
